BEYOND THE BLUES

An Inter-School Competition on Mental Health (12-17 October '2020)

An inter-school, virtual event Beyond the Blues was conducted by BBPS GRH Marg, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. This was a week-long event that was conducted from 12-17 October 2020 and a total of 24 schools participated across various competitions. The event capsuled a plethora of activities ranging from poetry recitation to product review. Students participating in Lyrical Musings, a self-composed poetry recitation competition amazed us with their prodigal talent. They were to pick from topics like hope in a time of distress, the Tragic flaw of being human, power of gratitude, and fear surrounding us. The commerce based activity, Evaluation du Produit provided participants an opportunity to select health-related products and analyze them.

Psycho Daily- A competition related to psychology allowed participants to present a research-based evaluation on topics like– cyberbullying, & its impact on learning, mental health disorders in men and women, rising rates of suicides in Bollywood, and so on. Mann KI Baat, a competition for the students of Hindi language, provided a platform to deliver a speech on topics like; Wellness of mind and body, Learning during lockdown – choice or compulsion. The next event in the category was Manas where each participant was to recite a Sanskrit shloka and explain its essence. The schools participated with great enthusiasm and their contributions are praiseworthy. Though we share a list of winners yet it should be mentioned that each entry deserves applause and appreciation.
