Vernacular Club Activity - ‘मेरा देश मेरी शान’

The students got yet another opportunity to explore the Indian vernacular languages through the activity -‘मेरा देश मेरी शान’ conducted on 20.01.20. They learnt to write the quote ‘जय जवान जय किसान’ in different regional languages – Marathi, Punjabi, Bangla,  Gujarati, Assamese, Telugu. They beautifully wrote it on colourfully decorated A4 sheets. As the activity was held just a week prior to the Republic Day, the work of the students reflected patriotism and national integration. The young proud Indians participated with great
enthusiasm.

 

Vernacular Club Activity - 25.11.19 

 

The Vernacular Club conducted a special assembly on 25.11.19. The topic of the assembly was 'Rangmanch’. The students of Class III presented a skit in Punjabi titled ‘Paani  Bachao’. The skit highlighted the importance of water and need to save and conserve it.

The objective of this activity was to give the children an opportunity to explore a new Indian regional language. The students enjoyed the presentation and also promised to avoid wastage of water.

 

Vernacular Club Activity - 14.10.19 Surtaal 

A special assembly ‘Surtaal ‘was conducted as a part of Vernacular Club Activity on 14.10.19.
The participants from Class III sang regional songs depicting the diversity of our country.  Dressed up in colorful traditional dresses they sang songs in different languages such as Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, Rajasthani, Kumaoni, Malyalam, Chhattisgarhi, Punjabi and Sindhi. All the performances reflected the rich Indian culture and the participants exhibited confidence and pride.

 

Vernacular Club Activity - Exploring Self (20.09.19) 

In the club activity -Exploring Self organised on 20.9.19 , the students learnt and wrote their names in different vernacular languages of India. The languages chosen for the activity were Malayalam, Assamese, Bangla, Kannada, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati  and Marathi. Students beautifully calligraphed their names. This activity gave them an opportunity  to learn a new language and explore  a new script other than English and Hindi. As students wrote their own names they could easily connect and enjoy the activity. Overall it was an enriching and joyful experience for the students.

 

Vernacular Club Activity -23.8.19 ‘सुलेखन’

 

The Vernacular Club Activity for the month of August - ‘सुलेखन’ was organised on 23.8.19.  The objective of the activity was to expose the students  to the scripts of different regional languages of India. The students learnt to write the phrase ‘Proud to be an Indian’ in different regional languages – Bangla, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi, Oriya, Hindi, Oriya and Assamese. They participated with great enthusiasm and beautifully calligraphed it on colourfully decorated A4 sheet.

 

Vernacular Club Activity - Salutations (22.7.19) 

A special assembly was organised for the students of Class III on 22.7.19, under the aegis of the Vernacular Club which aims at providing a platform to the students to learn and explore different regional languages spoken in India.
The participating students wore traditional dresses of various states like Gujarat, Bengal, Kerala etc. and greeted each other in the language spoken in the respective states. The activity was a very enriching and joyful experience for all.

 

Vernacular Club Activity - 30.4.19

भाषा अन्वेषण

The introductory activity of the Vernacular Club -  ‘भाषा अन्वेषण’ was conducted on 30.4.19. The aim of the activity was to develop and create interest of the students in different regional languages and thus preserve India’s multiculturalism through multilingualism. The students were shown videos which apprised them of some basic phrases used in day to day communication in Assamese, Bangla, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati and Punjabi. It was an interactive session wherein students were made to practice the phrases they heard and read, along with the videos screened.

This accompanied the most popular video -‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’. The video promotes unity amongst Indians, highlighting different Indian linguistic communities. The activity was a joyful and enriching experience for the students.
