Republic Day

72nd Republic Day was celebrated on 26 January 2021 with fervor and pride in the school. The day is reminisced to commemorate true independence and momentous Purna Swaraj. The Constitution of India came into effect on this day. We Indians became a sovereign, secular, socialist and democratic republic country on 26 January 1950. The saga of patriotism was unleashed which was earned through the sacrifices of innumerable lives against the British imperialist establishment.  

We attained freedom on 15 August 1947; however, the Constitution of India came into force on 26th January 1950 - also the longest national Constitution ever to be adopted.  The day is referred to as Republic Day as it not only marks the end of British rule but also heralds the birth of India as a Republic State.

Republic Day is a national festival and is celebrated with a lot of zeal and exuberance. The President of India hoists the national flag on Raj path in New Delhi. The entire arena echoes with a ceremonious 21 gun salute and the national anthem. The grand celebration of Republic Day is viewed by the general public from all over the country at Raj path. Adding glory to the event, a ceremonious parade is organized in honour of the country from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan along the Raj path, through India Gate. All the states of India display their culture, uniqueness by building beautiful tableaus during the parade. There are air shows by the Air Force, and much more to commemorate this day.

Bal Bharatians also celebrated the spirit of freedom and upheld the festive fervor through a variety of activities. The students presented Music and Dance performances, impersonated the great Indians of the pre-independence era, prepared posters depicting the Republic Day parade and described the National Symbols. A special assembly was also organized wherein the students celebrated the day with patriotic songs, poems, yoga and dance presentations. They also presented an enriching conversation between the Constitution & Dr. B R Ambedkar followed by a reading of the Preamble.
