Bal Sabha Activity - Equi Ball

On April 18, 2024, Bal Sabha activity 'Equi-ball', was organised for the students of classes I and II. This interactive game seamlessly blended entertainment with education, emphasizing vital skills like balance, coordination and focus. As students energetically participated in the fun balancing activity, they not only refined their physical abilities but also boosted cognitive functions. From gracefully navigating a zig-zag path to skillfully balancing two balls placed on paper cups attached to a wooden scale, every moment was filled with joy and excitement. The activity cultivated mutual respect among children as they played, promoting appreciation for personal space and individual achievements.

SPORTS DAY & ANNUAL SPORTS MEET
In the month of February 2024, Bal Bharati Public School Pusa Road Campus witnessed an impressive display of athletic talent and sportsmanship during its Sports Days and Annual Sports Meet. The events, spread over the month, showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of students across all grades.
On February 12, 2024, Class I athletes took center stage, participating in a range of sports activities guided by their coaches and teachers. From hula hoops to relay races, students demonstrated their skills and passion for physical activity, fostering an inclusive and energetic atmosphere. Class II Sports Day held on February 9, 2024, was marked by coordination and teamwork as students engaged in various activities. The day concluded with spirited competitions, setting the stage for the highly anticipated Annual Sports Meet. Class III students showcased their athletic abilities on February 7, 2024, with a display of energy and enthusiasm across different sports activities. The event emphasized values of sportsmanship and camaraderie, laying a strong foundation for future sporting endeavours. The pinnacle of the month-long sports festivities was the Annual Sports Meet on held on February 20, 2024. Beginning with a soulful performance by the school choir, the event featured captivating displays.
The students from Class II came together, representing the eight school houses to present the Harmony Walk which was a symbolic representation of the shared values and goals that unite us and showcased the diversity within our school community. As they walked in harmony, the students demonstrated respect, cooperation, and support for one another, fostering a sense of belonging and fellowship.
The Harmony Walk was followed by the Torch Relay, a time-honoured tradition that symbolizes the passing over of leadership, knowledge, and inspiration from one generation to the next. In this ritual, the class III sports champions, who had demonstrated excellence and dedication in their respective fields, passed on the torch to their successors in Class II. As the torchbearer, they carried the flame of passion and achievement, signifying the responsibility and opportunity entrusted to the next generation of athletes.
The Mass Drill presented by the students of classes I, II and III was a meticulously choreographed performance showcasing the coordination, discipline, and teamwork of the students. Through synchronized movements and formations, students demonstrated their physical prowess and dedication to fitness.
Yoga Display by the students was another highlight of the Sports Meet. The Display was a graceful presentation demonstrating balance, flexibility and mindfulness. The students showcased a series of poses and sequences, emphasizing breath control, concentration, and inner peace.
The Skipping Display which followed was a dynamic exhibition of agility, speed, and precision by our talented skipping champions. Through intricate footwork and rhythmic jumps, students demonstrated their mastery of this traditional yet challenging sport. The display not only showcased the athleticism and creativity of the participants but also inspired others to pursue their passions and strive for excellence.
The finale featured various races and athletic events including the 50 metres race, relay race and fun races like the Hoopla Hoop and Crab Race.
The medal ceremonies for each class honoured outstanding performances and sportsmanship demonstrated throughout the events. The Annual Sports Meet reflected the school's unwavering commitment to fostering athletic excellence and holistic development among the students.
BAL SABHA SPORTS ACTIVITY: Football Dribbling
The Bal Sabha Sport Activity- Football Dribbling organised for the students of class II on 31.11.23 showcased an array of exciting activities, engaging young talents in three dynamic challenges: Zig-Zag Run, Dribble Through Lane, and Dribble & Turn. This event was a testament to the enthusiasm and skill of our budding footballers, with each activity designed to test and enhance their dribbling abilities. The ‘Zig-Zag Run Activity’ demanded precision and agility as participants weaved through obstacles, exhibiting deft control over the ball. The ‘Dribble Through Lane Activity’ assessed their ability to navigate tight spaces and make calculated moves to advance the ball forward. Meanwhile, the ‘Dribble and Turn Challenge’ showcased their quick thinking and coordination in swiftly changing directions while maintaining ball possession.
Throughout the activity, students displayed remarkable focus, determination, and teamwork, fostering a spirit of healthy competition among the participants of different houses. The event not only celebrated individual skills but also emphasized the importance of strategy and adaptability in football dribbling. It was a display of the talent and potential of these young athletes, leaving spectators impressed and inspired by their passion for the sport.
INTER CLASS SKATING COMPETITION
On November 29, 2023, Bal Bharati Public School, Pusa Road Campus organised the Bal Sabha Interclass Skating Competition for classes II and III. Utilizing skating as a medium, the event aimed to bolster participants' physical strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. With three categories - Adjustable, Quads, and Inline skates - accommodating skaters of all levels, the competition fostered skills like speed and distance estimation. In addition to highlighting skating skills, the activity emphasized educational goals by promoting concepts of goal setting and fostering cooperation among students.
YOGA COMPETITION
Bal Bharati Public School, Pusa Road Campus, organized a Yoga Competition on 5, 13, and 27 October 2023 for the students from classes I, II and III respectively. The primary focus of this event was to promote holistic development among the students and provide them with a platform to showcase their yoga skills. Preparations for this competition began well in advance, with students actively participating in regular yoga classes to master different yoga asanas. The selection process for student participation was meticulously structured, aiming to boost self-esteem and foster active engagement.
Participants showcased their strength, flexibility, and coordination through synchronized group asanas and individual performances, all assessed by experienced instructors in the discipline. The culmination of the competition exhibited an impressive demonstration of skill from all participants, establishing an atmosphere of encouragement and mutual support.
The deserving winners were honoured with medals and certificates. It effectively motivated every student to exhibit their flexibility and passion for learning yoga, fostering a remarkable spirit of enthusiasm and accomplishment.
BAL SABHA ACTIVITY- AQUA SPORTS
At BBPS Primary Department, Pusa Road Campus, an engaging and educational sports activity ‘Aqua Sports' was organised for the students of classes I, II, and III on 25 September, 26 September and 29 September respectively. The activity was meticulously designed to promote the holistic development of our young learners, focussing on refining both fine and gross motor skills through a variety of engaging water-based games. The activity was a delightful fusion of recreation, learning, and physical activity set in an aquatic environment. Its significance extended beyond mere enjoyment, as it imparted a profound sense of responsibility and increased safety awareness among the participants.
NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
National Sports Day stands as a significant occasion, symbolizing the values of sportsmanship, physical fitness, and honouring the legacies of sporting icons. At Bal Bharati Public School GRH Marg Pusa Road Department, a special assembly was organised for the students on August 28, 2023 to mark this day. During this assembly, students were immersed in the historical context and importance of National Sports Day. The students paid homage to the legendary athlete, Major Dhyan Chand, emphasizing his profound contributions to Indian sports. The primary aim of the celebration was to inspire our young athletes by showcasing these role models who exemplify discipline, perseverance, sportsmanship, and teamwork. To further emphasize the significance of sports, a captivating skit was performed, illustrating the myriad benefits of participating in sports. A spirited musical performance was the grand finale, vividly reinforcing the profound impact of sports in our lives. This assembly truly encapsulated the spirit and values of National Sports Day, leaving an indelible impression on our students.
Sports Activity – Catch and Throw

‘Catch and Throw’, an enthralling sports activity was conducted at Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, Pusa Road Campus . The activity was organised for the students of Class I on 27.07.23. It proved to be an exciting and engaging event for all participants. This fun-filled activity focused on honing the students' catching and throwing skills while promoting teamwork and fostering a sense of camaraderie among the students. The objective was to complete the relay in the shortest possible time, emphasizing precision and coordination. Prior to the event, students were taught the essential techniques of catching and throwing underarm in their regular classes. The game demanded focus, quick reflexes, and accurate execution, challenging the students to improve their hand-eye coordination and motor skills. Regardless of the results, each team displayed exemplary sportsmanship, applauding their opponents and celebrating their achievements. The event left a lasting impact on the students, reminding them that sports is not just about winning, but also about personal growth, friendship, and the joy of participating as a team.
Sports Report
April-July
Swimming is one of the best exercises to keep ourselves healthy and active. It also helps in healing numerous breathing issues and provides comfort to the muscles and joints in our body. The students of the Primary Department were given a platform to utilise the facility of swimming in the campus. The school is proud of the state of the art swimming pool which is half of the Size of Olympic pool. Maximum children from the department have opted for swimming as a sport during their Physical Education period. Different activities were planned for the students who couldn’t opt for swimming due to medical issues or otherwise. In the month of April and May, these students were asked to bring skipping rope with the aim of developing physical fitness in them. Brain games encourage students to train their cognitive skills, help in improving memory and also enhance problem solving abilities. So, these students were asked to bring chess board or Rubik’s cube or Sudoku puzzles during the early month of July.
Students were also explained the importance of warming up and limbering down. They were engaged in activities like jumping and balancing under which various different activities were included such as skipping, twisting, jumping jacks, Flamingo balance, book balance on head etc. The concept of relay race and benefits of working in a team was also explained.
Sports Activity: Basketball Dribbling
The Sports Activity, Basketball Dribbling was organised for the students of class II on July 7, 2023. Dribbling, often referred to as the language of basketball, allows players to effectively communicate with the game. The objective of the activity was to encourage students to enhance their dribbling skills by maneuvering the basketball with one hand and reaching the finish line as quickly as possible. The activity proved to be both intriguing and beneficial, providing participants with opportunities to improve their cooperation, agility, speed, and hand-eye coordination. Through the activity, the students also got an opportunity to improve physical fitness, and develop valuable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
SKIPPING
‘Skipping is the walk of Joy’ - Jessi Lane Adams
To improve agility, muscular strength and neuromuscular coordination, an inter house Skipping Activity, was conducted for the students of class III on 04.05.23.
Through the activity they learned to jump rope using different techniques. The students were divided into two teams.
The participants had to jump rope to reach the finishing line and then pass the rope to the next player.
The teams exhibited speed, vigour & collaboration while trying to complete the relay in the minimum possible time.
They tried to master the basic jump rope skills and techniques. The activity promoted skipping as a sport that the children can pursue to keep themselves fit and healthy.
