Me The Bookie Club 2021-2022

Activity: The Magic Fish Bone 

With an aim to widen the perspective of our young minds and let their imagination fly, Me the Bookie Club organised an activity on 17 February,2022. The young readers were introduced to an interesting story, ‘The Magic Fish Bone’ by Charles Dickens. The story was narrated to the children and they were also shown a glimpse of the life of ‘princess Alicia’. In the follow-up activity they wrote the summary of the story using precise and specific language. 

Activity : Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland 

With an aim to rev up students’ enthusiasm for reading and build language art skills, Me the Bookie Club organised an activity on 20 January 2022. The story,Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ was narrated and the young learners were introduced to a renowned author through a module. A follow-up activity was also taken up wherein the students created beautiful posters on the theme of the story. The students were able to learn the importance and profound benefits of reading. 

Activity : The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

With an aim to widen the perspective of our young minds and let their imagination fly, Me the Bookie Club organised activity on 18 November 2021. They narrated a fantasy story, ’The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ through a module. It was followed by a craft activity wherein children learnt how to make a designer picture frame with waste materials easily available at home. They placed the cover page of the story read in the designed photo frame to make it more attractive.

Activity: The Magic Finger

To inculcate love for reading books in young learners, Me the Bookie Club conducted an exciting activity on 21.10.21.  A short and amusing story, 'The Magic Finger’ by Roald Dahl was narrated by the teacher. It is a fun story with a social message. It was followed by a craft activity wherein students made bookmarks with R K Narayan’s Quote on them. This fun activity helped the students to know more about the renowned author, R K Narayan and his teachings.

Activity : The Magic Finger

To instill a love for reading among our little learners, a fantasy story,  ‘The Magic Finger’ written by Roald Dahl was narrated through a module on 23.09.21. The story taught them the importance of kindness and empathy. Being able to put yourself in someone else’s shoes is not easy, especially as a child.  Children enjoyed listening to the story and were captivated by humour and magic. A follow-up activity was also taken up wherein students made a word wall picking a few words from the story.

Activity : The Bird with Golden Wings

The club introduced a remarkable book named- The Bird with Golden Wings written by children’s favourite author Sudha Murty. The well-crafted book was chosen for the activity and has enchanting tales. It was a delightful read for the children.  A module with the narration of a story with the same title was posted on Connected Classrooms. A follow-up craft activity was also taken up wherein students learnt to make a flapping bird using colourful origami sheets. 

Activity :  Stuart Little

Me the Bookie Club aims at escalating love for books in our young learners. In the Virtual Club Activity organised on 22.7.21, the students enjoyed the famous story of Stuart Little. The story was about a small mouse who came to live with the Little family and its experiences. A video with a narration of the story with pictures was posted on the Connected Classrooms portal. The children watched the story and made a creative mouse using origami sheets.

 The Galoshes of Fortunes by Hans Christian Anderson

 

The activity organised on 22.04.21 was based on the famous story - The Galoshes of Fortune,  written by Hans Christian Anderson. The famous tale which is about a set of time-travelling boots was narrated and presented by the club master through a video posted on Connected Classrooms. The video included a brief introduction about the author. The children watched the story and made a beautiful birthday card for the author. They not only enjoyed the story but also performed the follow-up activity with great zeal and enthusiasm.
