BAL BHARATI PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
Independence Day, one of the most noteworthy days in the Indian history, was celebrated in the school saluting the valour and devotion of the brave hearts and freedom fighters. The day is significant as the Britishers left India and handed over the reins of India to its progressive thinkers. It reminds all citizens about the glorious emergence of a new beginning. The beginning was of historic significance as the era of freedom started. We were liberated from the colonial rule that lasted for more than 200 years. On the momentous day of 15 August 1947, India was declared independent and the Indians singularly steered the governmental control. India’s achievement of independence was a tryst with destiny as the road to freedom was an extended, painful and tiresome one. Patriots sacrificed their lives and matters to set the motherland free and envisioned a bright future for generations ahead. On this day, entire nation witnesses remarkable celebrations of independence with tricolor flag hoisting, assemblies and cultural functions across the country.
Seventy five years of hard earned Independence remind us of the innumerable sacrifices made by our fore fathers and martyrs. Saluting the spirit of their valour and unflinching devotion towards the motherland, we at school honored unity in diversity. We revered all the participants who fortified the sovereignty of our nation irrespective of religion, language, caste, customs and traditions. People of India fought together for the motherland and uplifted the faith in the incredible heritage and culture of the ancient civilization. Reminiscing the hard times and struggles undertaken by stalwarts was a befitting time for us to celebrate the national festival with great enthusiasm and commitment. A feeling of national pride enveloped the entire campus of the school and collectively we committed ourselves for global peace, harmony and brotherhood.
To mark 75 glorious years of Independence, we at BBPS GRHM gathered together once again and celebrated the Independence Day with pride and honour. All the students paid homage to the countless freedom fighters for their supreme sacrifice and displayed patriotic zeal in the activities in accordance with DoE directions.
Celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on Independence Day this year, a special assembly was conducted on 13 August 2022. The momentous day was filled with enriching theme based activities aimed to honour the history, ethos and achievements of the diverse nation. The programme started with the national song Vande Matram sung by all the students along with soulful prayers which truly conveyed the spirit of solidarity. Young ignited minds could understand the significance of the grand day through the inspiring speeches, poems and classical dance performances highlighting India’s unity and diversity. The hoisting of the flag (on 13 and 15 August 2022) was done followed by the national anthem and the ceremonial freedom walk by the NCC cadets converged perfectly with the radiant presentations by the students.
A host of activities were held across all departments like flag – making, poster designing, craft work, role- play of freedom fighters, poetry recitation etc. Students also wrote the school emblem committing themselves towards the core values propounded by the school. Keeping the spirit of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign alive, national flag was hoisted and also distributed in the school to invoke the sentiment of nationalism and belongingness with the national flag among young citizens. Independence Day Walk and human formation of “India 75 Years” were significant events organized to celebrate the day. In his address, the Principal Mr. L V Sehgal appreciated the large scale participation of the students and the staff and furthermore guided the young students to tread wisely for nation building. The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem and then distribution of sweets.
