Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated each year on 2 nd October, 2022 to mark the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as the Father of the Nation. Mahatma Gandhi fondly addressed as Bapu led India’s Freedom Movement and championed the cause of peace, truth and non – violence. In the twenty-first century, when individuals experience a lack of tolerance,
proactive spirits and the conviction to shine, Gandhian principles come to their rescue and motivate them.
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”.
These words of the prolific and determined political ethicist and anti-colonial activist continuously inspire our youngsters and call for a change.
Young Bal Bharatians, nation’s enlightened minds left no stone unturned to honour the sacrifices and selfless service of Bapu to the nation. A special morning assembly on the theme of ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ was organised. A specially curated animated film on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi was shown in classes to instil Gandhian principles and moral values in young minds. A poem reflecting Gandhi ji’s philosophy of life was recited by students. An engaging and interesting art activity related to the political activism of Mahatma Gandhi was conducted.
The triumph of Gandhiji was celebrated with utmost reverence through the melodious rendition of soulful bhajans by the school choir. Iconic incidents from the life of Mahatma Gandhi were enacted through thought provoking role play. The fraternity paid befitting tribute to the world leader and peace messenger.
