FESTIVITY IN THE AIR

To mark the auspicious occasion of Diwali, inculcate in students the values of empathy, sense of social responsibility and motivate them to adopt safer and eco-friendly measures to celebrate the festival, the Environment Club of Primary Department conducted an activity under the theme “Festivity in the air” wherein students were asked to list any five unique ideas to celebrate Diwali without causing noise and air pollution. They also decorated earthen diyas, made rangolis, gifted eatable items to the helpers and needy people.
DO SOMETHING DRASTIC ; CUT THE PLASTIC !
Recycling is a critical practice to make our planet cleaner and free of waste. With a vision to make students sensitive towards the importance of waste management and to inculcate the practice of recycling, the Environment Club of the Primary Department conducted the activity - ‘Do Something Drastic; Cut the Plastic’. The students made flowerpots and planters using discarded bottles, cups, mugs and oil cans available at their home.
ELIMINATION OF IDENTIFIED SINGLE USE PLASTICS
The Environment club of the school organised various activities to spread awareness amongst the students of classes IX-XII for eliminating single used plastic from 10- 15 September 2021. A concerted and monumental effort was made to encourage people to eliminate single use plastic from their lives. The event lasted for 6 days, in which many students participated to spread awareness to a large group of audience, at school, in the neighborhood, and on social media.
- Following the COVID-19 protocols, an interactive online discussion session was conducted on single use plastic followed by a pledge.
- Essay writing competitions, Poster making, and discussion sessions were also conducted with maximum participation by students.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2021
World Environment Day 2021 was celebrated by the students of classes VI-VIII on the theme of the year, ‘Ecosystem Restoration’. To sensitize the students about the same few activities were planned on the theme. Creating an innovative piece of art, craft or model, making a portfolio (Digital/ Manual) and designing a badge, a cap or a t-shirt were some of the activities showcased on the padlet.
