An activity, highlighting the importance of financial literacy at a young age, was conducted for the students of class X. The students were instructed to get an old or a cancelled cheque for practicing how to fill it. The discussion was then led into the types of cheques ( bearer cheque, account payee, etc) and precautions one must keep in mind while filling a cheque and other alternate methods of making payments.
Naman Jain (IX C) and Neil Chhabra (IX A) won the Second prize at the International Environment Olympiad, organised by The City Montessori school, Lucknow in the month of November-December 2021. The students showcased immense knowledge by addressing the problems related to agriculture and gave an ineffective solution of hydroponic farming highlighting it to be the actual need of the hour
Students of Economics participated in an interactive activity entitled `Infographics in Economics` on 26 November 2021. The activity comprised of two aspects -
a) understanding the use of infographics
b) analysing recent demography-related indicators and trends in demography in India
Panasonic India limited and Hand in Hand India launched the second phase of 'Harit Umang Olympiad'- 2021-22 in line with the theme of International E - Waste Day 2021 – Education. The olympiad included three activities spanned between 14 October-13 November 2021. The activities were; Webinar on E-Waste; Collection of E-Waste and and the Cultural E-Waste Pledge. The activities encouraged students to work towards spreading awareness about E- Waste.
In September 2021, cartoons and memes were created on numerous topics in Economics by a large number of students. They had already been introduced to use of sarcasm in cartoons during Economics Club activities conducted in May this year.
Tanvi Gupta and Raghav Garg (XI F)participated in Explorika 2021, organised by BBPS, Rohini. Under the theme of Sustainable Economic Development, they took part in the debate event entitled `Ecowranglers` They spoke for and against the motion: Quality Education alone is the backbone of sustainable economic growth.
In July, students of classes XI and XII participated in a fun-cum-learning activity. Students were required to search for interesting diagrams, graphs and information from newspapers and other media. Three padlets, entitled Data Presentation, National Income Accounting And Tabular Presentation, were created for the purpose.
Concept mapping is an interesting tool that helps students understand, retain and recall their subject matter easily. Rhythm Sethi and Tanvi Gupta (XI F) prepared and shared two mind maps with the other members of the Club.
