November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day every year in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. This year we celebrated the 133rd birth anniversary of Pandit Nehru. To pay tribute to a great visionary who firmly believed that children are the future of the country, Children’s Day was celebrated at Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg on 14.11.2022. A host of activities were organised to make the day special for the children. These included movie screening, special assembly and engrossing art & craft activities.
Through the special assemblies organised by different departments, the students paid tribute to Chacha Nehru, who advocated an all-inclusive education system where knowledge is accessible to all. The presentations also included role play and dramatization depicting glimpses of Pandit Nehru’s life and showcased his bond & affection for children. The teachers presented a short play highlighting the importance of discipline in students’ life, followed by an enthralling dance performance which was applauded and enjoyed by our young learners. The programme concluded with all the children tapping their feet to vibrant music and melodious songs.
To add exuberance and fun to the day, movie screening was organised for the students. They enjoyed watching the movie while munching on their favourite snack. The children enthusiastically participated in the fun- filled craft activities planned for the day. These activities which included Dream Catcher Making, Bookmark Making, Card Making took them to the realm of ecstasy.
