Holi Craft Activity 

“Sometimes all you need is a little splash of colour & handful craft work.”

To celebrate the festival of colours, a craft activity was organised for the students of classes I, II and III on 11.03.22, 09.03.22 and 08.03.2022 respectively. Students were given the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills in the form of a collage using paper tearing & pasting technique on the theme - Holi. They enthusiastically participated in the activity and made beautiful collages reflecting the true spirit of the festival. The students’ work was compiled into a video & posted on Connected Classrooms.

Virtual Holi Celebration

Holi, a festival that is celebrated with a lot of fervour across the country,  marks  the victory of good over evil. The vibrant spring festival is unique as it displays India’s unity in diversity.With great gusto and anticipation, the students of classes I,II & III  participated in virtual Holi Celebration which  included numerous activities. They exhibited a profound display of drawings and craft work depicting the spirit of the festival and highlighted the importance of the day.

The activities helped children  strengthen their imagination and enhanced their knowledge about the vibrance of India.

Bal Sabha Activity - TechGens 

Bal Sabha Activity - TechGens was conducted for the students of class III on 7.03.22. The Paint Brush activity gave them an opportunity to showcase their computer skills on Microsoft Paint. They created a graphic using 6 ready made shapes in the software on the theme - Scenery or Landscape The presentations were submitted in jpeg format or time lapse video. 

All the entries received were compiled in a video and uploaded on the CRISP portal and the participants were awarded e-certificates. 

Sports Day 2021-22

Annual Sports Day was organized for classes I, II and III on 25.02.2022, 23.02.22 and 22.02.22 respectively in the school premises. It included multiple events like skipping, dribbling the ball, dress up for the party, collecting the gloves, ball in the mug, cup collection, one leg skipping etc.

The annual event which was organised in offline mode was an overwhelming experience for our young champions and they participated with vigour and enthusiasm. The winners in each category/race were awarded medals.

The entire event was steamed live, and refreshments were given to all the students. Students who participated in the Sports day were extremely happy and showed a lot of enthusiasm for participating in these activities offline after two years. Overall, the event was a great success. 

 

Annual Art Activity

‘Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.’

Annual Art Activity was organised for the students of classes I, II and III on 15.02.22 with an aim to enhance their creativity and drawing skills. The theme for the activity was ‘One thing which I miss about my school’, ‘Looking forward to meet school friends and teachers’ and ‘Life during online classes’ respectively.  The colourful & vibrant drawings shared by the students depicted their emotions and feeling and reflected their eagerness to return to normal offline school.

Every Picture has a story

‘Great stories happen to those who can tell them.’

Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world. Storytelling activities are a great way to allow students to express themselves freely and creatively.

The virtual Bal Sabha – Every Picture has a Story organised for the students of classes I, II and III on 11.2.22, gave them an opportunity to create their own stories based on pictures provided to them. The students showcased their oratory skills & narrated their self-composed stories with amazing voice modulation and expression. They mesmerized everyone with their imagination power while presenting their stories which focused on the Four P's of Story Telling: People, Place, Plot, and Purpose. 

 

Inter-Unit Interactive Programme

Tête-à-tête - Connecting with Peers

Second Collaborative Activity (That’s my place)

The second activity under the aegis of Tête-à-tête - Connecting with Peers, the Inter-Unit interactive programme initiated by Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, Pusa Road Campus was held on 31.1.2022 on Google Meet. The students of Class III from BBPS Ratnagiri and BBPS GRH, Pusa Road participated in this virtual activity. Class III students from Pusa Road Campus gave a presentation on the Red Fort and the students from Ratnagiri Unit presented their research on the Ratnagiri Fort. The students enhanced their knowledge about a different state/city. In the follow up activity they sketched and drew vibrant pictures of the two Forts they had learnt about in the activity.

Bal Sabha Activity-  Master Minds 

To encourage the students to participate and assess their knowledge of spellings, mathematical skills, environmental and general awareness, an Intra Class Bal Sabha Activity - Master Minds was conducted for the students of classes I, II and III on 29 January 2022.  

The preliminary round of the activity was conducted on 17 January 2022 through Google Forms. The final round of the Quiz was conducted Live on the Microsoft Teams on 29 January 2022.

All the rounds of the Quiz were innovatively curated to put the basic skills of the children to test. The students participated with enthusiasm. To motivate and encourage the students, they were awarded e-certificates for participation and merit. 

Republic Day Celebrations

Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950. To celebrate the 73rd Republic Day, the students participated in various meticulously planned activities which included singing and dancing on the tunes of patriotic songs, enactments, role plays, art and craft activities etc. Through the presentations the students showcased their love for the Mother Land.

Chess Quiz

Playing chess significantly improves children's visual memory, attention span, and spatial-reasoning ability. An Interclass chess quiz was organized for the students of classes I, II, & III through Microsoft Forms on 19 January 2022. Different videos were shared with the students to apprise them of the basics of the game and  motivate them to learn more about this indoor board game. They were guided about the rules of the game in their regular physical education classes too. Students attempted the quiz with enthusiasm and the winners were awarded e-certificates.

Christmas Celebrations 2021 

Christmas is a time for celebration, a time for giving, being selfless and thinking about others. The festival which signifies love & togetherness was celebrated virtually by the students with enthusiasm. Students highlighted the importance of the day through beautiful pictures, videos, role plays, enactments, drawings and creative craftworks.  

Football Juggling Competition

‘Football is like life- it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.’

Football juggling Competition was organized for the students of classes I, II and III on 29.12.21, 28.12.21 and 27.12.21 respectively

The aim of the activity was to motivate them to play this physically demanding game and provide them an opportunity to improve their speed, agility, strength, hand-eye coordination and overall cardiovascular endurance.  

The preliminary round was open for all and the shortlisted students performed live in the final round which was conducted on MS Teams.  All the finalists displayed their ball control and balance while juggling the football. All the participants including winners were awarded e-certificates.

Critical Thinking Skills

“We don’t grow when things are easy. We grow when things are challenging.”

‘Critical Thinking Skills’, an Intra-Class online quiz was organised for the students of Classes I, II and III. In the Preliminary Round of the quiz, which was open for all the students, the children attempted a time-bound online quiz through a Google Form. Ten students from each section were selected for the final round which was conducted LIVE on MS Teams on 4 December 2021. The students enthusiastically participated and showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. The activity was aimed at fostering creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in our young learners.

Inter Class Yoga Competition 

Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It is not just about exercise but inner awareness too.

‘Inter Class Yoga Competition’ was organized for students of Classes I, II & III on 23.12.21, 24.12.21 and 22.12.21 respectively. In the preliminary round, which was open for all, the students performed two asanas showcasing their flexibility and self-control. The shortlisted students performed live in the Final Round conducted virtually on TEAMS. Each participant skilfully performed three asanas - Chakrasana, Bhujangasana & Paschimottanasana and displayed traits like mind & body focus and balance. All winners and participants were awarded e- certificates.

Shake it Skate it – Skating Display

‘Skating is an amazing form of self-expression. It’s like one’s soul at play.’

To make the young learners aware of the importance of physical fitness, Bal Sabha Activity, Shake it Skate it, was organized for the students of classes II and III on 20.12.2021. The activity gave our budding champions a platform to display their skating skills. They shared videos showcasing their expertise in zig-zag skating. The outstanding presentations were compiled into a video and uploaded on CRISP portal. All the participants were awarded e-certificates.

Gurupurab Celebrations

Gurpurab or Prakash Parv is a spiritual and social reminder of the values and principles of the Sikh Gurus. It’s a day to honour their preachings and spread the message of peace and harmony. A virtual celebration marked the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh Guru. The children actively participated in a range of meticulously planned activities including enactments, drawings and craft work etc. The celebration focussed on the teachings in the Guru Granth Sahib and propagated the message of ‘One God’.

Children’s Day Craft Activity - Let’s Get Crafty

Children’s Day Craft Activity - Let’s Get Crafty was conducted virtually for the students of classes I, II and III on 12. 11. 2021. The theme of the activity for class l was Decorative Frills, for class II - Card Making and for class III Flower Making.

Students of classes I & II made colourful paper frills & paper flowers respectively while the students of class III made beautiful crafty greeting cards that complimented the festivity in the air

The outstanding work shred by the students was compiled class-wise. Participation and merit certificates were awarded to encourage the children. 

Diwali Celebrations

Diwali, the festival of lights is widely celebrated in India and is also observed by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists around the world. The lights and diyas signifying the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Our young learners indulged themselves in the fervour and enthusiasm of the festival through drama, dance, music presentations, craft work, etc. and celebrated the return of Lord Rama from exile after 14 years. The vibrant presentations emphasised the spiritual & religious importance of the auspicious festival. 

Inter class Table-Tennis Competition

“Table Tennis is like an atom. To the ignorant, it is merely microscopic and insignificant in existence, but to the dedicated, it is intricate in design and the building block to everything we know.”

An Interclass Table-Tennis competition was organized for the students of Classes I, II and III on 29.10.2021, 27.10.2021 and 30.10.2021 respectively.  In the Preliminary Round, the students of class I shared a 30-second one-shot video displaying the skill of bouncing the ball on a racket and the students of class II and III shared a 1minute, one-shot video displaying the skill of service. 

The final round of the competition was conducted virtually on MS Teams for classes I and II on 29.10.21 and 27.10.21 respectively. The participants of class I were required to bounce the table-tennis ball on the racket a maximum number of times in 1 minute and class II, participants were required to serve the table-tennis ball on the table for a maximum number of times in  a minute. 

For the participants of class III, the competition was conducted at Pusa Road Campus on 30.10.21. Matches for the Girls and boys category were conducted separately. All the winners were awarded medals and the participants were rewarded with e-Outstanding Certificates. The event was also live-streamed on MS teams for students and parents to witness.

Dussehra Celebrations 2021

‘Dussehra’ is one of the most popular Indian festivals which is unique in its perception and significance. It inspires everyone to follow the path of truth, righteousness and dharma. To mark the occasion in school, the children participated in a plethora of activities highlighting the spirit and essence of the festival. This included character depiction, craft work, dramatization and much more. The presentations showcased the victory of good over evil.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2021

To commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, a host of activities was planned for the students. They shared videos and pictures highlighting his contribution in the freedom struggle and pledged to follow the Gandhian principles namely Truth (satya), non-violence (ahimsa), welfare of all (sarvodaya) and peaceful protest (satyagraha). All the children participated with enthusiasm and paid tribute to our beloved Bapu. 

An App with a New Cap

 

Bal Sabha Competition - An app with a New Cap was organised virtually for the students of classes I, II and III on 30.09.21, 17.09.21 and 10.09.21 respectively. 

In this changing paradigm of education where computer applications play a vital role, students were given an opportunity to explore any one educational application and roleplay the same highlighting its importance.

Resplendent in their costumes and glowing in all their finery, students emulated the latest technological applications like – Byju’s, Vedantu, Metafic, Duolingo, Stellarium, etc. with confidence and passion. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for our young  Bal Bharatians.

Sports Competition - Aqua Play

Swimming is a great form of exercise as it involves almost every part of our body, helping us burn calories the natural way. Due to the pandemic, the much-awaited event, Swimming Competition was modified keeping in view the safety & well-being of the students. A water activity, Aqua play was organised for the students of class I on 22 September and classes II and III on 24 September 2021. This activity focused on the students’ concentration and development of fine motor skills. 

Two students from each section of classes I, II and III, were selected for the final round of the activity which was conducted live on Microsoft Teams. The finalists performed the activity called ‘Fill it and Win it, wherein they had to fill an empty bottle with water using a sponge (Class I) or tumbler/mug (Classes II & III). Participants with optimum speed owing to their muscle strength & hand-eye coordination were declared winners.

                          

 Dance Mania Class I (31.08.21)

Dance is more than just a means of exercising and entertainment.  Recent research has shown that students who study & learn dance are more self-motivated, disciplined and focused. They are more expressive while communicating their emotions, thoughts and feelings 

To give our young budding dancers a platform to showcase their talent, Bal Sabha Activity, ‘Dance Mania” was organised for the students of Class I. This program was conducted live on MS Teams.

In the preliminary round of the Activity, the students actively participated in large numbers and two students from each section were selected for the Final round who performed live on August 31, 2021.

The students performed on the musical rendition of the Hindi poems such as झूला, तितली और कली, सूरज जल्दी आना जी and काले मेघा पानी दे. These poems talk about the aspirations of children who want to get closer to nature and experience its beauty in different ways. The vibrant performances of the children glorified the role of the sun and rain in our life and depicted the beautiful bond between a butterfly and a flower bud. The colourful costumes and creative backdrops made each performance mesmerizing.

                          

Janmashtami Celebrations 

The students of classes I, II and III celebrated Janmashtami with fervour and pomp. Donned in colourful and vibrant costumes reflecting the spirit of the festival, they rejoiced, sang bhajans and danced to please Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Celebrating Raksha Bandhan 

Raksha Bandhan, the festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters was marked as a special day at Bal Bharati Public School. The students of Classes I to III made special Rakhis and decorated them with attractive embellishments. They also made beautiful cards and wrote messages for their brother and sister. The students enthusiastically shared their pictures celebrating the festival with their siblings and family.

Independence Day Celebrations

The students of Classes I - III celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour and zest. The celebration included special class assemblies, craft activities and role play activity highlighting the significance of the day. The students participated with enthusiasm and remembered the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle. 

Music Programme- Rangeela Bharat 

Class I, II and III

Every country has its own language, but one language that we all can understand is music. Indian folk music is diverse because of its vast cultural diversity. It is sung in various languages and dialects.  With an aim to help the children experience the folk culture of India, Bal Sabha Activity- Rangeela Bharat, was organised for the students of classes I, II and III.

The preliminary round of the activity was open for all and witnessed mass participation.  Two finalists from each section of classes I, II and III performed in the live event organised on TEAMS on 09.08.21, 11.08.21and 13.08.21 respectively

The students presented melodious songs on various themes like nature, festivals, seasons etc. Their mesmerizing performances reflected the true spirit of the different states of India and highlighted the diversity of Indian culture.  

                          

Twist and Turn Class I, II and III

Bal Sabha Competition-Twist and Turn, English Story Narration with an alternate ending was conducted for the students of classes I, II and III on 06.08.21and 28.07.21 respectively. The theme of the activity for students of classes I and II was Fairy Tale and Panchatantra whereas the students of Class III narrated the stories - The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Jack & the Beanstalk and The Golden Touch. 

The children narrated the stories with confidence and innovatively twisted the age-old tales giving them an interesting alternate ending. They wore colourful costumes and used props to make their presentation more effective and impressive. The competition gave them an opportunity to explore different stories & tales. 

                          

Report - विज्ञापन प्रस्तुति (Class I,II,III)

With an aim to provide an opportunity to our young learners to explore their creativity and showcase their inbuilt talent, Bal Sabha Activity - विज्ञापन प्रस्तुति was organised for the students of class I,III and II on 15 July & 24 June 2021 respectively. The themes for the same were खेल खेल में, खाद्य प्रदार्थ & स्वछता अभियान for class I, II and III respectively. 

The well-scripted advertisements, voice modulation by the participants and usage of meaningful & creative props, made each performance unique. Best 3 entries from each section of Class II & III qualified for the final round. The finalists were judged on parameters such as content, creativity and presentation and were awarded e-certificates.  Five best entries from each section of Class I were shortlisted and awarded e-certificates.  The judges appreciated the efforts of the students. Each participant presented an advertisement with a social message and it was an excellent learning experience and confidence-building exercise for students.

                          

Creative Classics

To provide our little learners yet another opportunity for enhancing their creative skills, an art activity was organized for the students of Classes I, II and III on 8 July 2021. The theme for the students of class I was a - Zoo/Jungle Scene with Number Drawing. They made drawings using different numbers as a base and learnt a new way to express themselves.

The theme for the students of class II was Rainy Season with Alphabetical Drawing. Using alphabetical letters, the children beautifully depicted picturesque scenery. 

The theme for the students of class III was - Stick Drawing. The students created beautiful drawings using the stick drawing technique. 

All the students participated with great zeal. The best entries from each section were selected and the vibrant work was showcased in the form of a compiled video uploaded on the Connected Classroom Portal. It helped the children brush up on different styles of drawing and nurturing their imagination.

                          

Sports Activity : Obstacle Race

Obstacle Race was organised for the students of class II on 15 July 2021 with an aim to provide them an opportunity to put their speed, endurance and agility to test. The activity consisted of four obstacles - Duck Walk, Chair Tunnel, Jump over Pillow and Ball in the Bucket.

Sports Activity: Skip and win 

Skipping rope is an ultimate fun, high-intensity workout with incredible benefits that aims to increase hand-to-eye coordination, stamina and focus. It is a great calorie-burner and improves the cardiovascular system.

To motivate the students to actively participate in this endurance sport which strengthens the upper and lower body, the Skip and Win activity was organised for the students of class II on 17.06.21. They shared their videos showcasing different skills such as single bounce, double bounce, one leg, back and jumping jack with a rope. The brilliant performances of all the participants which reflected a harmonious union of the mind and the body generating positive energy were compiled in a video that was posted on the Connected Classrooms portal. The magnificent display of talent and skills by our young and budding skippers was awe-inspiring. 

SPORTS ACTIVITY: Fun with Football

Playing football has many health benefits for children. It improves their agility, hand-eye coordination, strength and cardiovascular endurance.

To motivate the students to actively participate in this endurance sport, Sports Activity - Fun with Football was organized for class III. One-shot videos were received from students showcasing different skills such as – zig-zag dribble, Toe taps, Feet to feet, Juggling and balancing the football. The performances of all the participants were compiled in a video that was posted on the Connected Classrooms portal on 15 April 2021. The splendid display was applauded by all.

Orientation  Programme For Class I

To ensure a smooth transition of the students from the Montessori Department to the Primary Department an Orientation Programme was conducted on 4 and 5 April 2021.

In the Introductory Session conducted on the first day, the class teachers interacted with the children along with their parents. On the second day, the parents were briefed about the teaching-learning pattern followed in the Primary Department and details regarding the Timetable, Bal Sabha activities, Examination policy etc. were shared and explained. The session aimed at making our enthusiastic learners comfortable and help them brace up for the new session ahead.
