INTER CLASS ROPE SKIPPING COMPETITION 

 

Promoting vigor and reorienting the robustness of the physical aspects of the body, the Physical Education Faculty members of the Middle Department organised an Inter Class Rope Skipping Competition on 31 January 2022. The event was conducted virtually for the first time engaging the students of class VIII. The activity witnessed an enthralling participation of about 32 students across 8 sections, both boys and girls. The presentation was a coruscating spectacle to behold with bodies beaming in the shiny sun spread across the winter sky.

उज्ज्वलम: AN INTER HOUSE YOGA COMPETITION

Seeking inspiration from the above thought, an inter-house Yoga Competition उज्ज्वलम with the theme of ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ was organised by the Middle Department on 28 December 2021. The competition witnessed the astounding participation of our yoga enthusiasts from all eight houses. This time resonates with the need of keeping ourselves fit and ready to fight the challenging situations coming our way. The event put forth some astonishing presentations by the participants wherein they showcased their best form by performing certain difficult asanas with ease and agility.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 

World Environment Day 2021 was celebrated with great zeal by the middle department keeping in mind the theme of the year ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION. In order to meet Sustainable Development Goals and stop Ecosystem Degradation, the UN has declared 2021-2030 as the Decade of Ecosystem Degradation. To sensitize the students about the same, few activities were planned on the theme which not only engaged them creatively but also helped them to think about the importance of all kinds of environments from Forests and Oceans to Savannahs and Peatlands.

TOP THE EGGHEADS - HORTICULTURE CLUB ACTIVITY 

 

With an objective to create awareness regarding the importance of growing wheat at home, the students of the Middle Department engaged themselves in an interesting activity organised by the Horticulture Club named ‘Top the Egg Heads.’ The participants emerged with wonderful ideas and exemplified their vivid imagination.

ANUBHAV SERIES BY SPIC MACAY

To steer the youth through the mental stress triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, SPIC MACAY initiated the ANUBHAV SERIES, a week-long online project. The series aimed to help youngsters indulge in mystical and diverse aspects of Indian Art, culture, and heritage. Forty three students from the school participated in the mega event which commenced on 21 June. Society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst youth is a voluntary youth movement which aims to make education holistic by promoting intangible aspects of Indian Cultural heritage. They organised programmes augmenting Indian Art, Classical Music, Dance, Folk Music, Yoga, Meditation, Crafts and Cinema Classics. The series was broadcasted live from 21 June and 27 June 2021.The workshop gave a unique opportunity to the students of classes VI-VIII to interact and learn from the maestros. The sessions comprised of Yoga & Meditation, Workshop with the Gurus, Folk Art Sessions, concerts and a heritage walk. Renowned artists in various fields under the Guru Shishya Parampara interacted with the students and taught them nuances of folk painting, dance, theatre, vocal music and instrumental music. The session ended with the classical overnight concert by leading artists of India. Several Padma Shri awardees took part in the online session. The week-long sessions helped the youth to de-stress and learn under the Guru Shishya Parampara, getting up at Brahma Mahurat and sustaining discipline and punctuality in life.

LET'S CONNECT - A VIRTUAL PROGRAMME IN SUMMERS 

The new academic session ushered in with a set of new dynamics in education. Keeping in  with the critical situation engulfing the world, the Middle Department organized a virtual  programme , ‘Let’s Connect’ from 10 May 2021 to 4 June 2021. The one-month programme aimed at keeping the learners engaged in an array of well-crafted collaborative activities. The virtual space provided the learners and facilitators a unique opportunity to interact and share their enriching experiences for futuristic learning. The school also brought out a newsletter blending learning with fun.​
