Tod Fod Jod Club (2021-2022)

LIGHTS, CAMERA AND ACTION!

21 December 2021 to 3 January 2022

Tod Fod Jod Club of the Primary Department, GR organised an interesting activity for the students of Class IV wherein students created their own short, silent motion film. Students designed a series of multiple gradually changing pictures with the help of a jar lid with slits cut between the pictures. On observation through any slit, multiple images appeared in quick succession that seemed to be moving. While technology may have changed the way animation works today, it hasn’t changed the underlying mechanism of the craft. With this activity, students learnt fascinating aspects of animation i.e. the creation of visual continuity and motion, through still images.

Students used that material in an innovative way and some even used origami to form vibrant spinning tops. They also experimented with colours and patterns to create different designs and learnt how toys can be manipulated into various shapes and structures and how a variety of things come to being.
