Green Diwali
Environment Club conducted creative activities like Diya Decoration to encourage students to celebrate festivals like Diwali without polluting the environment by lighting candles, electric fancy lights, earthen lamps to keep the environment neat and clean.
Such creative and expressive activities are helpful in diverting the attention of students from bursting crackers and take pride in decorating homes with their own pieces of art.
The students enjoyed the activity and spread the message of green and clean Diwali.
SEED BOMB
The Environment Club of Primary department organized an activity-'Seed Bomb' on 3 rd September, 2019. Ten members of the Environment Club from classes IV and V were escorted to the MCD park between our School and Janki Devi Memorial College by club In charges Ms. Sonia Sharma and Ms. Mamta Madan. Students had bought the mud seed bombs from home and they dropped them into the ground. They realized that once the bomb had been thrown, it broke part, scattering the seeds all over the park. While the general rate of survival of a plant is 10%, seed bombs take it up to 50% and additionally protect the seeds from pests like rats and squirrels. The objective of this activity was to teach the students ways to recover the green cover, the depletion of which has lead to alarming pollution and levels and declining quality of air in the state. Students enjoyed a lot and it was an enriching experience for them.
