Summer Camp was organised by Bal Bharati Public School from May 22, 2023, to June 09, 2023, to lay the foundation for distinguished opportunities of psychological, physiological, socio-emotional and academic development.
There have been 11 spectacular activities namely English Conversation, Art and Craft, Dance, Chess, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Physical Fitness and Athletics, Yoga and Meditation, Instrumental Music and Skating for the students of classes I to X.
English Conversation classes equipped and captured the attention of the young seekers with hours of discussions, debates, role play through movie screening, vocabulary games, writing tasks followed by the creative activities designed in Art and Craft for the learners through easy-on-the-environment materials like coloured papers, straws and paper cups along with new art-related stationery items and created windmills, Christmas trees and more. Dance came out to be a popular choice as students expressed themselves through gestures and movements to help channelise the overflow of energies in a constructive manner. The Game of Chess equipped children with different methodologies like Opening Theory, rules, and the Endgame Theory.
Students from all grades joined the trainers and benefitted the most while grasping different tips and tricks through practice and hands-on learning experience in Badminton. They were also taken away by the miraculous activities and fitness-related exercises in Physical Fitness and Athletics that one whole hour seemed less for them to play, run, hop or jog amidst the bright sunny days. While team sports are high-impact activities, Yoga and Meditation help individuals have the mind-body connection. Students were guided to achieve multitudinous asanas, talked about their importance along with improvement in form and posture along with dhyana or meditation for 15 long minutes.
Skating too became a popular sport as the learners were trained by educating them with the foundations of skating, like the right way to wear skates, how one needs to strike balance in case of instability and how to glide through difficult paths. Lastly, those learners who wanted to dive into the rhythmic world of music chose Instrumental Music wherein various instruments like Keyboard, Congo, Guitar were being taught. There were students from classes I, II and III and they were guided from scratch like the right position to hold a particular instrument to the different notes and ultimately, some harmonious beats.
The Summer Camp for the session 2023-24 culminated with loads of fun activities, distribution of sweets and reminiscing the three-week long sojourn overflowing with determination, self-worth and confidence.
