Blissful Bihar
The state chosen for the activity conducted on 25.10.18 was Bihar. After a brief introduction about the culture, cuisine, festivals etc the students were apprised of the famous art form from Bihar- Madhubani. They tried their hands on Madhubani Painting which is characterised by line drawings filled in by vibrant colours, contrasts and different patterns. They showcased their creativity and painted different figures like fish, peacock, elephant etc using the Madhubani technique. The outcome was enthralling and the students delightfully displayed their paintings.
State of West Bengal
The activity organised on 20.9.18 focused on the State of West Bengal. After a brief about the State , it’s culture, food, costume and festivals through a PPT and videos, the students were apprised of Durga Puja, the biggest and most widely celebrated festival in Bengal.
As a follow up activity the students beautifully decorated the cut out of Goddess Durga’s face and created colourful paper masks using material like mirrors, bindis etc. All the students enjoyed the activity and showcased their creativity.
Rangeelo Rajasthan
The activity organised on 23.08.18 focussed on the State of Rajasthan.
Students were shown videos and PPT to familiarize them with the colourful state. They learnt about the culture, cuisine, folk dances, places of tourist interest, traditional craftwork, etc of Rajasthan. The follow-up craft activity was aimed at giving the students a feel of the traditional craftwork of Rajasthan. They made colourful & vibrant coasters decorated with chunri print paper , mirrors, gotta patti, etc.
Gateway of India-Maharashtra
In the club activity conducted on 19.7.18 , the students got an opportunity to explore the culture, cuisine, costume, festivals, places of tourist interest and amazing facts about Maharashtra through captivating videos.
Students also explored, Warli art, the tribal art of the state. They learnt how to draw various figures in Warli art through visual narratives. The students were creatively involved and made drawings using the art form. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students who displayed their masterpieces with pride.
Vibrant Punjab
In the activity organised under the aegis of Explore thy Country club on 19.4.18 , the student were introduced to vibrant Indian state- Punjab .
Students developed an understanding of its culture through the power point presentation screening. They explored the folk dances and songs of Punjab along with other important facts related to the state.
Students were taught the basic steps of the folk dances from Punjab - Bhangra and Giddha. They enjoyed dancing to the tunes of the folk songs and dhol. The girls wore traditional phulkari & gotta work dupattas and boys tied colourful scarves on their wrists. This added colour and splendour to to the activity rooms and students participated with enthusiasm and vigour.
