BOOKMARK- MY BESTIE

A trivial looking piece of paper like a bookmark proves its immense significance when we wish to take a break from the fantasy world of books.

As part of the activity titled "BOOKMARK-MY BESTIE", students prepared a bookmark and wrote the sentence "I LOVE READING" in the allotted 8 regional languages. They decorated their bookmark with the help of pictures, colours etc. 

Activity:  अन्तराष्ट्रिय मातृभाषा दिवस          

With an aim to preserve India’s multiculturalism through multilingualism an activity was organised under the aegis of the Vernacular Club on 21.02.22. Our country is the best example of ‘Unity in Diversity’ as all the people with different cultures, religions, languages, foods, customs and traditions stay here together with peace and harmony. They sang songs, recited poems & shared interesting thoughts in their regional language. 

Activity: एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत

India is a diverse country with a different customs, traditions and religions. To promote the idea of ‘Unity in Diversity’ among the students and ignite a feeling of togetherness, an activity was organised on 27.01.22 for them under the aegis of Vernacular Club. They wrote the slogan- एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत in different regional languages. They participated with full zeal and enjoyed learning a new language

WORLD OF ALPHABETS

India is known for its cultural vibrancy and plurality of languages. Alphabets are foundation bricks which give shape to the language contours. To further the objectives of Central Board of Secondary Education's "EK Bharat, Shrestha Bharat" scheme for promoting cultural unity, Vernacular Club of Primary Department envisaged the activity on alphabets of different vernacular languages of India.

As part of the activity titled, “World of Alphabets”, students were assigned to research and write alphabets and a phrase "Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat" in the allotted 8 regional languages viz-a-viz their class and section. Students learnt and witnessed the composite culture of our country through the alphabets from different regional languages.

KNOWING THE LEGENDARY FIGURES OF THE NATION

As a part of promoting Indian languages, students were asked to write a pictorial introduction on the topic, “Mahapurush of India”- legendary figures of the country. Students wrote the introductions in the respective regional language of these stalwarts. The activity aimed at enhancing the knowledge of students in Indian diversity and rich language culture.

SANKALP- A Greeting Writing Activity 

‘Sankalp’ - a Greeting Writing Activity, was organised for the students of class VI-VIII in the month of June. A total of 120 students prepared bookmarks and greetings in three different languages (Marathi, Urdu and Maithili) paying tribute to their class teachers, healthcare staff and frontline workers.

“Walking Down the Country Roads”

(11 May 2021-26 May 2021)

Our country, India is world-renowned for its plethora of soulful songs and poems of rural life woven and recited in affluent forms of vernacular languages. With an aim to provide our students a wholesome learning environment, the Vernacular Club of the Primary Department organized an activity “Walking Down the Country Roads”, for the students of Classes IV and V wherein they were allotted songs and poems in a few regional languages viz-a-viz their class and section. The students also recorded and shared a video of themselves while performing the song/poem. The activity aimed at enabling students to enjoy, learn and cherish the melodious facet of India’s native linguistic diversity.
