Independence Day Celebrations

Bal Bharati Public School,GRH Marg celebrated the 70th Independence Day on 15.8.17, with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme was attended by around 200 parents and students (office bearers & participants) of various departments.
The musical extravaganza presented on the occasion had a patriotic fervour and included the National Song 'Vande Matram' sung by the school choir (Pusa Road Campus) , an instrumental music presentation of patriotic songs by the students of the Primary and Senior Department and a patriotic poem - 'Azadi Ki Keemat' recited by Saniya Virmani,Head Girl ( Middle Department).
The highlight of the programme was a melodious presentation of the Sanskrit version of the patriotic song ,'Saare Jahan Se Achcha' by the school choir.
The Headmistress,Mrs.Sunita Gehani(Primary Deptartment,Pusa Road Campus), Chief Co-ordinator Mrs.Poonam Sondhi ( Primary & Middle Department), Headmistress Mrs.Neelam Ahuja ( Montessori Department), Mr. Anand Seth (Sports Director) and student office bearers unfurled the Indian Tricolour.
This was followed by inspirational speeches  by the Head Girl, Shivangi Malik , the Head Boy, Tanmay Khandelwal and newly appointed Head Boy, Prakrat Gupta which highlighted   the supreme sacrifices of the great martyrs of the Indian Freedom Struggle.
The students, staff members and all present on the occasion took an Oath sent by CBSE stating a promise to sincerely contribute towards making India free from the evils like poverty, corruption etc. by the year 2022 and also diligently try to make India a cleaner and greener country.
In her address, the Headmistress , Dr. Gehani, greeted & congratulated all present on behalf of the Principal,Mr. L. V. Sehgal and stressed the need to understand the true meaning of freedom & value the untiring efforts of our forefathers.
A Kite Flying Competition - 'Reaching Heights ' was also organised for the students and winners were given prizes in the Junior and Senior category.
Distribution of sweets marked a befitting end to the celebration.
