ASIAN PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE

In order to provide students a platform to get acquainted with the Asian Parliamentary Debate, three enriching sessions were organised for the students of class IX & XI, from 6-8 December 2021. The debates were based on the respective motions- Democracy has failed us, Unpaid internships should be against the law and Regretting the media focus on the personal lives of politicians.

All the three sessions were followed up by a feedback session which included feedback from the adjudicator and peer feedback.

 “मनस् (गीता के श्लोकों का गायन)”

Reading the Bhagavad Gita introduces us to the truth about life and helps us attain freedom from superstition and false beliefs. Knowledge gained from the Bhagavad Gita dispels our doubts and builds our confidence. Seeking inspiration from these lines, the Oratory Club of the Middle Department organised a Sanskrit activity ,“मनस् (गीता के श्लोकों का गायन)” on 24 January 2022.

The activity was conducted virtually which witnessed an enthralling participation of 27 students from classes VI-VIII. The participants were instructed to recite shlokas from the holy Bhagwat Gita and also explain its meaning.

STORY TELLING ACTIVITY

With an objective to provide a stage to our orators, a virtual storytelling activity ‘Simply Nature’ was organised by the Oratory Club of the Middle Department on 11 September 2021. The activity witnessed participation of 23 speakers from classes VI-VII wherein they enacted an element of NATURE through wonderfully fabricated stories in Hindi.

TELL A TALE

"You’re never going to kill storytelling, because it’s built in the human plan. We come with it.”

In these words of Margaret Atwood, a story lives through the art of storytelling. It can create and destroy the magic of words. With an objective to provide a stage to our orators, a virtual storytelling activity ‘Tell A Tale’ was organised by the Oratory Club of the Middle Department on 9 July 2021. The activity witnessed participation of speakers from classes VI-VIII. The topics were given on the spot and our orators fabricated wonderful stories. They presented their experiences, fancies and imagination vividly through words and gestures.
