I CAN DO PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 22.12.2022
An activity “I can do” was organized for Pre-School & Pre –Primary children on 22.12.22. The young minds showcased their talent in creating an art piece out of waste material on the theme 'Life under Water'. They were sensitized about the sustainable goal and motivated to take care of marine life and thereby save our planet in their own little way. The children, created wall hangings, pen stands, and flower vase etc. using eco-friendly material like newspapers, old CDs, ropes, ice-cream sticks etc. It was a fun filled activity which developed their fine motor skills and aesthetic sense.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
A Bal Sabha activity to celebrate the festival of joy & giving was scheduled on 20th December,2022. The festival was celebrated with great fun and enthusiasm in the Montessori department. Children depicted the story on the birth of lord Jesus & also presented beautiful dance performances which brought great joy to the young tiny tots of the department. Santa came dancing & distributed sweets.
ENERGY CONSERVATION PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 13.12.2022
The joint morning assembly programme on Energy conservation was held on 13.12.22. Children expressed simple thoughts and solutions to conserve energy through lines, slogans and reciting rhymes along with their colourful posters. They also performed on the dance to energize the spirit of conserving energy.
All the children along with the teachers took a pledge to save future.

MERI PATHSHALA PRE-PRIMARY 29.11.2022
The school is a place where the child gets motherly feeling from his/her teacher and is able to grab so many wonderful experiences. A Bal Sabha MERI PATHSHALA activity was oganized for Pre-Primary children in which they showcased and expressed their reasons of happiness - by picture pasting activity on the cutout of a school. All the children participated enthusiastically and had fun learning.
SHOW & TELL PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 25.11.2022
To strengthen the verbal skills and to foster public speaking, a Show and Tell activity was organized for the Pre-School & Pre-Primary children. The Pre School children spoke on the topic- My Toy, while the Pre-Primary children spoke on Means of Transport and brought the handy prop of the same. It was an interesting and a thrilling experience for the kids to share their feelings with peers which provided fun and a comfortable learning arena for the children. At the intra class level best ten children were awarded the merit certificates. At the Pre-Primary level, the best child from each section at the inter class level further competed and best three children amongst them were awarded with merit certificates.
STORY DRAMATIZATION PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 17.11.2022
Story Dramatization brings the child’s imagination and ideas to the group. Keeping this in mind, a Bal Sabha activity on story dramatization was conducted on 17.11.22. Children of Pre-School and Pre- Primary presented two interesting stories खो गया गप्पू जंगल में and Plan of Animals in a fun filled way. 135 Enthusiastic performers from the Montessori Department with their energetic performance and colourful props entertained the audience. The program was appreciated by all and the moral of the stories were well grasped by the children as a take away of the day.
MY FAVORITE CARTOON PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 14.11.2022
Cartoons are inevitable part of every child's life and it helps to increase the child's imagination and creativity in a fun and an interactive way.
To give vent to their creativity, a Fun Activity of Cartoon Drawing and Coloring Competition - My Favorite Cartoon was organised on 14.11.22 for children of the Montessori department. Both Pre-School and Pre- Primary children actively participated and made beautiful cartoons using their creativity. Best 10 entries from each class were awarded with a merit certificate.
CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 10.11.2022
A Bal Sabha activity to celebrate Children’s Day was held on 10th November,22. The Headmistress, Ms. Neelam Ahuja addressed the children and shared a few words of wisdom. An introduction about Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru set off the proceedings followed by performance of the students and teachers, which included the recitation of poems, singing and dancing. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy. The celebrations came to an end with the distribution of chocolates in the classes as a small token of love and affection by the school.
GURU NANAK JAYANTI 03.11.2022
The joint morning assembly programme on Guru Nanak Jayanti was conducted on 3.11.2022 by Pre-School and Pre-Primary students to nurture the feeling of oneness and secularism amongst the tiny tots. In an awakening, musical, colourful and informative extravaganza, the children were told about the reason of celebration of Gurupurab which was followed by dramatization of Nagar Kirtan and reciting of Shabad. Around 45 children participated enthusiastically in the programme. The Assembly was well appreciated by all.
STICK PUPPET MAKING PRE-SCHOOL & PRE-PRIMARY 07.10.2022
Art and craft activities provide opportunity to appreciate the aesthetic beauty around them to the children and also, help to develop creativity by triggering their imagination. To bring students' creativity to the forefront, Stick Puppet making activity was organized for the students of the Montessori Department. The children presented their immaculate work by making colourful puppets of birds using the various craft techniques. The children were also motivated to use the stick puppets for enactments and rhyme dramatization. This activity, proved to be a true learning experience for all the children.
RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS 31.10.2022
“Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) was celebrated at Pusa -Road Campus on 31st October 2022 to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary, children of Montessori department were reinforced the need for being United and develop the feeling of oneness in them. To mark the occasion in a befitting manner with great enthusiasm, a “UNITY RUN” was organized in the playground of the school premises for tiny toddlers in which they enthusiastically ran holding their hands to strengthen the bond of togetherness. Children in traditional attires depicting the vibrant colours of Indian states added a charm to the whole celebration.
HINDI EXTEMPORE 31.10.2022
To develop verbal communication amongst the children and help them to improve their Imagination, presentation, comprehension, and ability to communicate and to gain self -confidence. With this aim, Hindi Extempore was organized for students of Pre-Primary on 31st October 2022 in which the child had to prepare and speak on the following topics:

The children expressed themselves on the topic given to them. This activity helped to channelize their potential and energy both and also helped in enhancing their speaking skills. At the Intra class level best ten children were awarded the merit certificates. Along with this best child from each section at the intra class level further competed and best three children amongst them were awarded.
RHYME DRAMATIZATION 10.10.22 PRE-SCHOOL
The act of singing a rhyme or engaging with it physically, encourages children to express themselves in a creative way and to find their own personal 'voice'. Children of Montessori department with their colorful attires brought the beautiful world of animals alive on the stage by dramatizing two beautiful rhymes with appropriate and interesting props.
DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION 29.09.22
Festival celebrations are an important tool for imparting education about the culture to the students. To make the children aware of the importance of this festival, Dusshera celebration was organized in the Montessori Department on 29th September 2022. 120 enthusiastic tiny tots presented a colourful event. They were all decked up in traditional attires and costumes. The children of Pre-Primary presented a musical skit on Dussehra to show the triumph of good over evil. The students of Pre-School spoke a few lines on the essence of the festival. The dance performances in traditional attires added colours of the festivity to the whole event. The students thoroughly enjoyed the extravaganza.
GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION 26.09.22
Gandhi Jayanti- the Birth Anniversary of “Mahatma Gandhi” was celebrated on 26th of September 2022, by the children of preschool and pre-primary through a Joint Morning Assembly. The special assembly was inaugurated with the bhajan-"Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram". A small skit, rhyme recitation and speaking few lines about Gandhi ji’s life, values, teachings, self- reliance and his invaluable contributions were some of the highlighting features of the assembly. To make the event livelier, a group of children presented a dance hailing the greatness of the man known as Bapu on the song" Bande mein tha Dum….”. The assembly concluded with a pledge and National Anthem.
SPLENDOUR 2022-An Inter School Creative Skills Competition
An Inter School Creative Skills Competition -SPLENDOUR 2022 was organised in the month of September 2022 by the Montessori Department under the guidance of the Headmistress Ms. Neelam Ahuja. The convenors of the event- coordinated in sending the invites online to over 90 schools Pan India and in creating specified Google forms for registration and receiving participation entries.
38 schools Pan India registered on the digital platform for 5 categories-Fashionista (Costume Fiesta) and आओ गुनगुनाएं (Hindi Recitation) for Pre School students. Shake A Leg (Dance mania), Incredible India (State representation) and Ingenious Craftsman (Model craft) for Pre-Primary students. The participating schools after registration uploaded their entries via a YouTube link on the said Google submission form with required details of the participant and the school. Each category was judged based on the given criteria of content and creativity. On the basis of merit, the participants were shortlisted for three positions in each category. The result was uploaded on the school website on 17.09.2022. The winners of each category and all the participants of the five categories were mailed an E-certificate for their achievement and participation respectively. A whopping participation by the prestigious schools Pan India culminated the event in a grand success.
CAMEL ART COMPETITION 23.09.22
The much-awaited Camel Art Contest was organised on 23.09.2022 for classes Pre-School and Pre-Primary. The theme for the competition was "Me and My Garden”. All the children participated enthusiastically. The contest provided a great platform for the students to showcase their talent and creativity. The best 20 entries would be awarded appreciation certificates along with prizes at the school level when the result is declared.
COSTUME FIESTA 20.09.22-22.09.22
Costume Fiesta was organised on 20th September 2022 for Pre-School. The children had a chance to showcase a colourful pageant of a variety of characters. The little ones came dressed up in vibrant costumes on the various themes. Children depicted their thoughts with enthusiasm and zeal. The event proved to be a great learning experience for the tiny tots and gave them the platform to explore their hidden talent with confidence. The efforts and hard work of the children was highly commendable. They looked adorable and won our hearts with their innocence. The best 10 entries from each section were awarded the merit certificates.
MY WORD WALL 08.09.22
Vocabulary is the foundation of language.Word walls have long been a useful strategy for helping younger students process words multiple times, thus enhancing their vocabulary, over the duration of the early school years. Hence, word walls are an important part of early childhood classrooms a Bal Sabha Activity “Word Wall” was organised for the students of Pre- Primary on 08.09.2022. Children were involved in doing various activities in the class such as making stick puppets, animal masks, flash cards etc. to create a colourful word wall in accordance with the category of animals allocated to their section. The children beautifully decorated their classrooms walls with their work, depicting the names of various animals/ insects, their young ones, their eating habits, their homes etc. It was a wonderful learning experience for the kids.
MY LETTER WALL 08.09.22
Letter recognition is one of the important milestones in the language development of a child. Learning letter names with letter sounds and associating with pictures, enhances overall reading skills. To provide this foundation for letter identification a fun-filled Bal Sabha Activity “letter Wall” was organised for the students at Pre-School on 08.09.2022. Children were involved in doing various activities in the class such as bud printing, colouring, tearing and pasting. Children took their creativity beyond the classroom walls by creating an attractive letter wall in school corridor. Overall, it was an interesting and a vibrant activity.
TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 01.09.22
The Montessori department celebrated this day with a special morning assembly on 01.09.22 in the school campus. The school campus was decorated with balloons, flowers and meaningful quotes. The children were dressed up beautifully according to the occasion. The celebrations started by a morning prayer followed by paying homage to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by the Teachers. The main aim of the assembly was to explain the children about the significance of the Teachers’ Day and importance of teachers in our lives. Participants gave audience a peek into the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan through their speech. They recited shloka, rhyme and spoke lines on teacher’s day. A dance performance was given by our tiny tots to make their teachers feel special. To conclude the event all the children gave a thank you card to their teachers as a token of love and wished them, Happy Teacher’s Day!! It was a fun filled celebration for the children as well as teachers.
EXPERIMENT DAY 31.08.22
An “EXPERIMENT DAY” was organized for Pre- School and Pre- Primary Children in their classrooms on 31.08.22. Various water experiments were conducted such as-
- Walking Water
- Water is colorless
- Sink and Float
- Water is shapeless
- Water evaporates
- Sink and Float
Through these experiments, children enjoyed and explored water in different ways. They were made to value water as a precious resource. The water used for conducting various experiments was later used in watering the plants outside the reception area. It was a fun-filled learning day for the children. A video on “Save Water” was also shown to the children after the Water Experiments.
COSTUME FIESTA 29-31 AUGUST ’22 (Pre- Primary)
A costume fiesta competition not only blends learning with fun but also develops confidence in students by giving them opportunity to speak in front of their own classmates. They learn to imitate the mannerism of the character they are dressed up as. To enhance creativity, imagination and confidence, Costume Fiesta was conducted for the students of Pre-Primary from 29th August to 31st August ’22 in the school premises. All the students participated and showcased their versatility with the help of the character chosen. They were smartly dressed up and took part with much enthusiasm. The main aim of the event was to gain stage confidence and enhance speaking skills. Best 10 entries from each section were awarded with a certificate.
FEED THE FROG 24.08.22
Sports Activity “FEED THE FROG” was organized for Pre Primary children on 24.08.22 in the outdoor vicinity of the school. Children were lined up for the race wearing ‘Frog Headbands”. After warm-up, they were explained the activity. The children progressed while they hopped like a frog on the individual tracks, picked and showed their food and then continued hopping until they reached the finishing point to pass through the Frog gate. This activity helped in strengthening their gross muscles, building their body balance, activated and increased muscle strength and helped in gaining confidence and knowledge on the animal and its food habits. The children participated enthusiastically and enjoyed this fun activity.
STORY TIME 17.08.22
Story telling is an art of conveying ideas. It improves their imagination and stimulates curiosity. It also develops their concentration, social skills and communicative skills. With these aims we organized “Story time” for Pre-primary students on 17.08.22. Children enjoyed watching story on Janmashtami. By this, the children got a chance to understand the rich mythological heritage and culture and also learnt that Right and good is always rewarded.
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION 17.08.22
Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning and building the child’s cultural identity.
Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated by the tiny tots of Pre School and Pre Primary children on 17.08.22 with great devotion and enthusiasm.
Children donned attires of Radha Krishna to give a traditional touch and express gratitude. The importance of celebrating Janmashtami was briefed and the children were acquainted with the celebrations done across the country. Children recited shlokas, bhajans and spoke lines on Lord Krishna. The life history of Lord Krishna was beautifully depicted through a short story. The assembly concluded with the children dancing and enjoying the song “Chhoti Chhoti Gaiya”. A beautiful and vibrant selfie corner was also created where the children happily got clicked.
PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN 12.08.22
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – The theme was extended with another interesting activity “Proud to be an Indian” which was organised on 12.08.22. The children were explained the importance of the day with the help of a PPT and an informative video. The day became lively when our tiny tots participated actively in a variety of craft activities like Tricolor hangings, greeting cards, badges, kites etc. to showcase their creativity & to spread happiness on this special occasion. To add more fun to the celebration, children brought tricolour food in their lunch. The day was concluded with a rhythmic session where the kids danced on patriotic songs and rhymes. It filled our heart with pride to see our children spreading the colours of Independence across the department.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 08.08.22
On August 15th, 2022, India celebrated its 75 years (platinum jubilee) of Independence. To mark this glorious event, Government has suggested schools to organise several events under the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” program. The Montessori department inaugurated the series of celebration of this grand event with a colourful Special Morning assembly on 08.08.22 in the school campus. The school campus was beautifully decorated with Tricolour theme with balloons, Flags and kites to spread the colours of independence everywhere. To cherish the event and to enlighten the tiny tots about the importance of celebrating Independence Day, a rhythmic skit was presented to the children depicting the struggle of our Freedom Fighters and their sacrifices for the nation. In the end, all the children, including the audience, danced on patriotic songs which added energy and colours to the whole program. To conclude the assembly, children were made aware about the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, an initiative by our honourable P.M Shri Narendra Modi as a takeaway of the event. Overall, it was a memorable experience for the children.
SHARING IS CARING 05.08.22
An activity ‘sharing is caring’ was organized for the students of Pre-school and Pre-primary on 05.08.22. The aim of the activity was to spread joy and happiness. Children were told about the importance of sharing. All of them made beautiful wrist bands by decorating them with stickers using their creativity and ideas. They tied the wrist bands on their friend’s wrist and sang a song on sharing. The children also shared their toys and other belongings such as their crayon box, puzzles etc. with their friends and made their bond of friendship stronger.
This activity not only enhanced the creativity of the children but also made them understand the importance of sharing. All the children participated with great zeal and excitement.
COLOURING IS FUN 26.07.22
An Art Competition ‘Colouring is Fun’ was organised for the children of the Montessori Department on 26.07.22. Art encourages children, develops skills and helps to gain confidence. The children of Pre- School enjoyed colouring in the picture of a ball and Pre- Primary children did colouring in a sheet based on cleanliness. All the children participated with zeal and enthusiasm. This activity helped the children in exploring new ideas, creativity as well as refine their colouring skills. Best ten entries from each section will be awarded certificates.
ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF SUMMER PROJECTS 16.07.22
Annual Exhibition of summer projects on the theme – ‘Toy Pedagogy’ was organized on 16th July 2022 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Exhibition was held to provide a platform to display the knowledge, creativity, skills and talent of our young artists.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Vinita Malik, a renowned TV personality, a mesmerizing story teller and above that a great teacher. The Chief Guest, along with our Principal, Mr. L.V. Sehgal, Headmistresses and Executive members of the PTA were welcomed by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The theme – ‘Toy Pedagogy’ was aesthetically and beautifully displayed in different classrooms in the form of puppets, Rangoli, DIY learning games, table mats, paper bags, box toys, calendars, dice, flower pots, wall hangings. best out of waste material and much more.
The key attraction of the day was ‘On the spot Puppet/Toy making’ by the pre primary children. Children made attractive toys with their innovative ideas which was appreciated by all the visitors. The parents of our tiny tots witnessed the Exhibition and complimented the school for the wonderful efforts. They gave their feedback with their words of appreciation in the visitors’ book.
Our little ones not only exhibited the creativity but also encouraged everyone to stay fit by their specially displayed Yoga Corner consisting of the yoga pictures they clicked on the International Yoga Day during the summer break.
Overall, the Exhibition was a fun and enriching experience for everyone which motivated the children to add many more feathers in their cap.
GURU PURNIMA CELEBRATIONS 13.07.22
A guru is a person who teaches and sheds light, knowledge and directs us to lead in the right path. Guru Purnima, a spiritual celebration dedicated to acknowledging the contribution of the gurus and teachers by the disciples was organized in the Montessori Department on 13.07.22. Children were explained about the importance of this festival. They recited shlokas & dohas, spoke lines, sang bhajans, did art activities to express their gratitude to the life and teachings of their gurus (teachers).
OUR LITTLE CHEF- 10.05.22
A Bal Sabha Activity- Our Little Chef was conducted on 10.05.22 for the children of Pre- School & Pre- Primary. The teacher had a short conversation on the role of the chef and how he/ she is helpful to us. The children were very excited to prepare various delicacies such as cucumber smiley sandwich, peanut chaat, smiley cookies etc. It was the new experience for the kids to do flameless cooking which enhanced their self- learning skills and made them more confident.
WORLD OF PUPPETS- 4.05.22 & 5.05.22
Puppets are engaging toys that can help support oral language skills and communication, social/emotional development, and help children learn and understand the world around them through safe, imaginative play.
A colourful Puppet Show was organized for Pre- School & Pre- Primary children. The story “FOUR FRIENDS” was presented with the help of colourful stick puppets which was thoroughly enjoyed by all of them.
HEALTH IS WEALTH 29.04.22
A healthy body is important to live a good life. To sensitise the students towards the importance of good health, and to emphasise the importance of healthy eating habits among the students, an activity, ‘Health is Wealth” was organised on 29.04.22.
Children of Pre-School and Pre-Primary did hands-on activities in order to understand the importance of inculcating healthy food habits. The students of pre-school coloured in the picture of a strong and healthy person. The students of pre-primary made a collage of nutritious food that they like to have in their meals. They were told self-created stories that talked about the necessity of a healthy diet and exercising to maintain good health and a strong body. Children had brought fruits and healthy snacks in their tiffin boxes.
MY FAMILY TREE
Family is one of the most priceless gifts that is given to us by God. Family plays an important role in moulding us as a unique person. To enhance this bond, My Family Tree activity was organised for Pre-school children on 25.4.22. They enjoyed pasting pictures of their family members and were motivated to talk about/describe their family. They were sensitized about their relationship with their family members. Children developed their self-confidence and communicative skills through this activity. All the children participated actively.
KNOW YOUR SCHOOL 25.04.2022
To familiarize children with the new environment of physical school and to give them the opportunity to adjust well, a Bal Sabha activity “Know your school” was organised for the students of Pre- Primary on 25.04.22. They were taken to different areas such as the Reception Area, Headmistress Room, Medical Room, Assembly Ground, Dramatics Room, Gym Area, etc. which enabled them in becoming familiar with the school infrastructure and they came to know about the importance of a school as an institution. All our children thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
The Adaptation period with lots of fun and innumerable activities, turns out to be more and more appropriate and effective, with each passing year. A joyful start to a pleasure called “SCHOOL”, it is instrumental in helping the new entrants settle down in the new environment. The children enjoyed the Magic Show, Puppet Show and the never-ending fun in the classrooms. They also enjoyed colouring activities, making a smiley wrist band, flower badge, colourful stick puppet of Earth spreading the message of ‘Save Earth’. There were gifts galore coupled with scrumptious treats like chips, chocos, cakes etc.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
" Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful."
Christmas is a festival of joy, greetings and gratitude. It is one of the world's most popular festivals celebrated across the world. It spreads cheer and smile all around. Every year, people eagerly wait to celebrate it with great fervour and enthusiasm on 25th December to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Jesus Christ.
To celebrate the real spirit of this day a host of activities was organised in school. These included a special assembly which highlighted the importance of this delightful festival. Students shared amazing facts about Santa Claus and suggested how each one of us can be a Santa for someone. They depicted the life story of Lord Jesus Christ and sang Christmas carols. The programme concluded with an enticing dance performance on the song ‘Jingle Bells’.
The celebration in classrooms which comprised of singing, dancing and feasting sparked the flame of happiness and togetherness among the students and made the school campus lively & joyous.
GK Quiz
With an aim to assess the level of general awareness in our students, a General Knowledge Quiz was conducted for the students of classes I, II and III on 15.12.22, 8.12.22 and 1.12.22 respectively.
After the preliminary round conducted by the class teachers, five students were selected to represent their respective classes in the final round. All the students were well prepared and played with great fervour and enthusiasm. The participants had to go through mind boggling rounds consisted of various challenging questions across different subject rounds. They were at their best and came up with flying colours. Through this quiz students got an opportunity to explore and improvise their skills in various fields. They were brimming with exuberance to be a part of a knowledge enriching competition.
BOOK BUZZ
To encourage the students to read books and inculcate a habit of reading in them, an Intra Class Bal Sabha Quiz – Book Buzz was organised on 1.12.22, 8.12.22 and 15.12.22 for the students of classes I, II and III respectively. The Quiz was based on some selected Fairy Tales, Panchatantra Stories and Aesop Fables. The intriguing quiz tested our reader’s comprehension skills along with the knowledge about the characters, moral and details regarding the plot of the chosen stories.
The students participated enthusiastically and the best 5 students from each class were selected on the basis of their speed and accuracy. The quiz helped in enhancing the vocabulary and language skills of the students.
WINTER CARNIVAL PARADE 25.12.22
Theme: SDG 14 Life Below Water and SDG 15 Life on Land .
Earth is the creator and sustainer of life. Everything that humans have needed to survive, and thrive, was provided by the natural world around us: food, water, medicine, materials for shelter, and even natural cycles such as climate and nutrients.
Sustainability is the key to a better future. It is crucial to understand that we as a human family have to re imagine and reshape the future.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development provides us a blueprint for peace and prosperity. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.
To educate the next generation of decision-makers, our students who will have a critical impact on the future of the planet, different activities are planned and conducted with the aim to help them understand the need for sustainability and importance of the SDGs.
The Carnival Parade presented by 313 children from the Montessori and Primary departments on the Winter Carnival held on 25.12.22 aimed at raising awareness about the Sustainable Developments Goal 14 – Life below water and Sustainable Developments Goal 15 - Life on Land. Our young global citizens aspired to seek support and contribute towards a safe and secure future.
The Parade began with a shloka highlighting that our Mother Earth provides us with everything we need and we must love and respect it. The enactment by the participants portrayed the flourishing life on land and under water where plants, animals and human live in harmony.
The next segment of the Parade depicted the impact of human activities on our planet. It highlighted how heedless exploitation of nature by humans has led to unprecedented biodiversity loss and a worsening climate crisis. It also emphasised on the dire need to live sustainably to preserve & safeguard the harmony in nature.
The parade culminated on a positive note spreading the message of love and peace through a foot tapping dance presentation by our little Bal Bharatians.
INTER CLASS YOGA COMPETITION
With focus on how yoga can help achieve holistic health of children, Inter Class Yoga Competition was organized for the students of Classes I, II & III on 17.11.22. Yoga has numerous benefits and improves balance, strength, endurance and aerobic capacity in children. It also refreshes our physical and mental state, boosts metabolism and helps in managing stress. The competition organized for the students provided them an excellent platform to showcase their Yoga skills. They gave their best and seamlessly performed exquisite yoga postures and displayed their knowledge, physical strength & flexibility.
They also cultivated awareness among their peers about benefits of yoga for both mental and physical well- being.
CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
November 14 is celebrated as Children's Day every year in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. This year we celebrated the 133rd birth anniversary of Pandit Nehru. A host of activities was organised for the students to mark the occasion.
On 10 November 2022 Children’s Day Art Competition was organised by the Parent Teacher Association. It was a great way to stimulate children’s imagination and drawing skills. The themes for the Competition were, ‘Coming to School is Fun’, ‘India as I Grow’ and ‘Collaboration’ for classes I,II & III respectively. The students artistically depicted their imagination & thoughts in their drawings.
Other activities planned and conducted on 14.11.22 included movie screening and a special assembly presented by the students & teachers. The assembly programme depicting glimpses of Pandit Nehru’s life and showcased his bond & affection for children. The students paid tribute to Chacha Nehru, who firmly believed that children should be given the right to education.
The most special feature of the Assembly was a short play and dance performance by the teachers. The play highlighted the importance of discipline in our lives. The programme ended on a high note, with all the children tapping their feet to vibrant music and children’s songs.
The Parent Teacher Association added another happy moment to the spectacular celebration and distributed chocolate to the students. The fun-filled day will indeed remain etched in the minds of the students.

The Inter-Unit Collaboration Programme was initiated with an aim to acquaint the students with their peers across different units of BBPS. A group of 16 students each from both the schools are a part of the on-going Inter-Unit Collaboration Programme between the units Bal Bharati Public School GRHM & Bal Bharati Public School, Navi Mumbai. In the first two meetings, the children got to know each other and exchanged information on the best tourist places in their cities.
Travelogue making was a follow- up activity conducted in the month of November. The students of BBPS GRHM designed eye-catching travelogues and showcased the knowledge that they gained about Navi Mumbai city during the interaction with their peers from Mumbai Unit. With the help of pictures and vivid descriptions, they highlighted some of the best places one can visit in Navi Mumbai. The travelogues which were displayed during the PTM held on 19.11.22 received a positive & overwhelming feedback from the parents.
FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMME- POEM RECITATION COMPETITION
To enable the students understand the need for and importance of money and to keep the young minds engaged & amused in the rhythm of beautiful poems, a Poem Recitation Competition was organised for the students of Class II on 16 November 2022 under the aegis of Financial Literacy Programme. Poem recitation is considered a fun activity for children as it engages them to learn new things and develop affection towards poetry.
The topic of the competition was ‘Money’. The activity helped the students learn about the role of money in their lives. It was a splendid opportunity for them to showcase their talent and develop their public speaking skills. It was an effective mode of learning a language, truly an enriching experience for the spectators & an enjoyable experience for the participants
NATIONAL UNITY DAY – 31 OCTOBER 2022
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, ’National Unity Day’ is celebrated every year on 31 October.
To honour his contribution, the students of Classes I, II & III celebrated this day in a remarkable way. Students of classes I & II were shown an informative video based on the brief history of the Iron Man of India. Thereafter, they took a pledge and promised to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
A special assembly was organised for the students of class III. The assembly programme apprised the students of the contributions made by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in shaping India. It included a play depicting his life events, poem recitation and speech highlighting the importance of being united. A short quiz was also conducted based on his life and preaching.
DIWALI CELEBRATION
Celebrating Diwali, ‘The Festival of Lights’ dispels the darkness of ignorance and illuminates the light of hope and knowledge. With an aim to share the significance of celebrating the festival and to motivate the students to celebrate ‘Green Diwali’ by saying no to crackers, a special Diwali assembly was conducted with great exuberance and joy by the students of Classes I, II & III on 21.10.22.
The students were apprised of the symbolic meaning of the spectacular Festival of Lights. They learnt how the festival which denotes the victory of ‘good over evil’ is widely associated with Lakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity and Ganesh, the God of wisdom.
The highlight of the show was a dramatization of the legend behind the festival. The event displayed the talents of our students. Through the scintillating foot tapping dance, street play and songs they delivered a soulful message and showcased the true spirit of the festival. The event reminded everyone of their responsibility towards the environment and all the students & staff members promised to celebrate a safe and eco-friendly Diwali.

To celebrate Bapu’s legacy and remember his universal teachings – peace & non-violence, which continue to inspire people around the world even today, a special assembly was organised for the students of classes I,II and III on 30.9.22. The children learnt about Gandhiji’s life principles and were encouraged to follow the path of righteousness. Children apprised their peer group about the rich legacy, thinking and ideology of Gandhiji and the way he struggled for the upliftment of society, curbing the menace of discrimination, spreading religion of humanity and brotherhood. The programme highlighted Gandhiji’s vital role and contribution in the freedom struggle of India. The significance of the day was presented through various presentations which included roleplay, bhajan recital and dance performance that gave a glimpse of Mahatma Gandhi’s life, his beliefs and teachings. The echoes of Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ a devotional song filled the air with melodious music. The children conveyed Gandhiji’s noble messages in the most effective and influential manner. They also participated in creative classroom activities and paid a tribute to the Father of the Nation.
FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMME- RECOGNITION OF INDIAN CURRENCY
Financial literacy is the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being. Learning the fundamental basics of financial prowess begins as kids. Having the proper skills and knowledge about what to do with money and how to use it judiciously at a young age is key to a good financial grasp for the future. With this aim in mind, Financial - literacy programme organised a purposeful activity for the students of classes I, II and III on 7.10.22. The students got the information about Indian currency notes and coins of different denominations. They learnt about simple buying situations and understood the meaning of purchasing power. Students were also sensitised about the commemorative coins and their uniqueness. The activity combined lessons of purchasing power and saving money with fun hands-on money skills games like tracing of coins and making combinations of note for the given values so that children grasp the broader concept behind currency and how it works. To reiterate the concept, they attempted a follow-up assignment. Students experienced an interactive adventure and the activity proved to be a legitimate way to teach them useful skills and concepts.

The second activity under the aegis of Financial Literacy , ‘Needs and Wants’ was conducted for the students of Classes I,II & III on 23.09.22 . Learning the difference between a want and a need through a moral story was a great way to enhance their vocabulary as well as teach them a valuable life lesson. Students learnt that needs represent necessities while wants indicate desires. A follow up worksheet helped them identify & differentiate between the two.

Various Bal Sabha activities and competitions are imbedded in the academic calendar with a core aim to foster all round development of the children and provide them a platform to explore their creativity and adopt innovative techniques to develop their ideas and skills.
To instill love for poetry and develop recitation skills in students a Poem Recitation Competition, Rhythmic Creations was organized for the students of classes I (Intra Class), II & III (Inter Class). The theme for the competition was ‘Save Marine Life.’
The competition for class I was organized on 8.09.22. For students of class II & III, the preliminary round was organized on 8.09.22 & 02.09.22 respectively. Three students from each section competed in the final inter class round conducted on15.09.22 and 08.09.22 for classes II and III respectively.
The competition provided students a splendid opportunity to exhibit their talent. They astonished everyone with their voice modulation and mesmerizing skills. The participants used colourful & meaningful props to accentuate the pitiful conditions of our marine fauna and expressed their feelings & thoughts by threading them into a rhythmic string.
The presentations highlighted the dire need of acting against human’s callous attitude towards Mother Nature and saving the marine creatures.

To celebrate and acknowledge the dedication of our efficient students, every year, we at Bal Bharati Public School, honour and encourage our students in the Prize Distribution Ceremony.The ceremony was an occasion to acclaim the achievements of students for their sustained hardwork and determined efforts.
To appreciate the deserving students and motivate the others, the Prize Distribution Ceremony held at the Pusa Road Campus on Thursday, 25.08.22. The programme commemorated with a prayer to thank the Almighty. The students of classes PS to class III were awarded certificates for academic excellence in the Session 2020-21 and 2021-22 by our honourable Principal, Mr. L.V.Sehgal and esteemed members of Parent Teacher Association. The students were very excited to receive the awards.
AD-MAD COMPETITION
Creativity without strategy is called art, creativity with strategy is called Advertising.
Bal Sabha Competition - Ad Mad competition was organised for the students of Class I on 25 August 2022. It was a perfect platform for the students to overcome their stage fright and showcase their oratory skills. Our young artists advertised healthy food items with a creative story line and original jingles to highlight their benefits. All the participants performed with enthusiasm and exhibited confidence & creativity.
The competition helped the students enhance their speaking skills, expression, voice modulation and dialogue delivery. Overall, it was a fusion of talent, imagination and innovation. It was an enriching experience for the little ones who explored and acquired some crucial life skills.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
The most auspicious ceremonial occasion of the school,Investiture Ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly office bearers.On 20th August 2022, Saturday, the investiture ceremony was organized for the office bearers of the school. Mr Raja Banthia, IPS Officer graced the occasion with his benign presence.
The ceremony began with a prayer, followed by a mesmerizing performance by our talented instrumentalist and a classical dance performance.
The office bearers from all the departments received a sashe and batch from the school Principal Mr. L.V Sehgal and the esteemed guest Mr. Raja Banthia.
The spectacular event concluded with an Oath ceremony. The office bearers stepped into a new leadership role and promised to perform their duty diligently. An inspirational speech by Mr. Raja Banthia marked a befitting end to the ceremony. His words of advice were highly motivating for the students .
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
The auspicious occasion of Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp and festivity. A special assembly was presented by the students of classes I, II and III on 17.08.22
A skit depicting life history of Lord Krishna was a part of the flamboyant celebration. The significance of a poignant and soulful friendship was highlighted. Children were donned in vibrant traditional clothes. They performed the musical dramatization of Lord Krishna’s Rasleela followed by a devotional dance. Students celebrated the festival with great admiration and enthusiasm.
BAL SABHA MUSIC COMPETITION - ऐसा देश है मेरा

Music is beneficial for children as it not only develops their aesthetic sense but is also a key to creativity.
To inculcate the feeling of respect and love for our nation and to showcase the singing talent of the students, a Bal Sabha Inter House Music Competition ‘ऐसा देश है मेरा’ was conducted for the students of classes I, II and III on 12.08.22. The theme of the competition was Patriotic Song. Our little aspiring participants spread the fragrance of love for the Mother Land by serenading melodious songs with zeal and confidence. Through the competition, the participants showcased a sense of pride for their nation.
Overall the event was a big success and all the performances received an overwhelming response.
RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION
‘The greatness of a culture can be found in its festival.’
To commemorate Raksha Bandhan, the festival that binds a brother and sister beautifully in a relationship forever, various art & craft activities were organised for the students of classes I,II & III. These included a Rakhi card making activity for classes I & II and poster/collage making activity for class I.
The students of class I made a colourful Rakhi card depicting the beautiful bond between a brother & sister. The students of class II made a card and wrote heart-warming messages and the students of class III created beautiful collage or poster reflecting the true spirit of the pious festival of Raksha Bandhan. The activities were a delightful celebration for students which made the environment full of joy and love.
BAL SABHA ACTIVITY: PAPER FOLDING
Paper Folding Activity was conducted for the students of class I on 21.07.22. They enthusiastically explored the art of paper folding & crafted a paper cat using origami sheets. The activity improved their concentration and helped in enhancing their hand-eye coordination & fine motor skills. They joyfully showcased their priceless creations.

With an aim to acquaint the students with their peers across different units of BBPS, Inter-Unit Collaboration Programme was initiated by Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, Pusa Road Campus in the session 2021-22. Our students got the opportunity to interact with the students of BBPS,Ratnagiri through a series of online meetings.
The Collaborative Programme was yet again initiated in the session 2022-23 wherein the students will interact and collaborate with their peers from BBPS, Navi Mumbai. A group of 16 students each from both the schools will be a part of this programme. The online introductory meet was held on 29.7.2022 in which the participants introduced themselves and shared information about their school, personal interests and hobbies.
The event was graced by our Principal, Mr. L. V. Sehgal ; Ms. Kalpana Dwivedi, Principal, Navi Mumbai. They addressed the students and gave their best wishes for the programme. Ms. Reetu Dawar, Headmistress, BBPS, Pusa Road Campus also addressed the students and proposed the vote of thanks.

Theatre, a powerful medium of expression, has been popularly used for creating social awareness. In the Bal Sabha Activity organised on 28.07.22, the students of Classes II and III presented a street play which highlighted the importance of keeping our environment clean and the need to avoid use of plastics.
The play also focussed on creating awareness about the SDG - Sustainable Cities and Communities. It depicted how by reducing wastage and working together, we can preserve our oceans and forests, thereby creating a sustainable world.
ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Educating the young minds and nurturing them as global citizens of tomorrow would help them develop core competencies essential for actively engaging with the world to make it more sustainable.
With an aim to sensitise the students towards global issues, the theme for the Summer Projects & Activities (2022-23) was chosen as Sustainable Development Goals 2030, with special focus on some important SDGs like Sustainable Cities & Communities, Life of Land & Water, No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Affordable & Clean Energy, Good Health & Well-being etc.
The students were guided to research and gain insight into these universal goals and showcase their work through artefacts, models, posters etc. which were displayed in the Annual Exhibition 2022 scheduled on 16.07.22.
The exhibition was graced by famous Indian film and television artist, Ms. Vineeta Malik as Guest of Honour. The occasion was also graced by the school Principal Mr. L.V. Sehgal, Vice Principal Ms. Vineeta Dhawan; Headmistresses, Ms. Neeta Nijhara, Ms Reetu Dawar, Ms Neelam Ahuja and Chief Coordinator, Ms. Sapna Behl. Esteemed members of the PTA & Alumni Association, parents & students were also present.
The cultural programme commenced with a prayer followed by a melodious song and vibrant dance presentation highlighting the spirit of the rainy season.
The projects of the children creatively depicted how humans can work together & contribute towards the global causes to make the world a sustainable place to live. A special corner devoted to Toy based Pedagogy displayed how productive use of toys can lead to enriching experiences for the children. The presentations of the students were applauded by all present.
BAL SABHA ACTIVITY - BEST OUT OF WASTE
Bal Sabha Activity ‘Best Out of Waste’ was conducted for the students of Classes I, II and III on 14.07.22. The aim of the activity was to motivate and encourage the students to use paper bags and reduce the use of plastic bags. The theme of the competition was ‘Caring for City Heritage'.
The students made a beautiful collage on an eco-friendly paper bag & wrote a short poem or slogan on the topic- Keeping the Heritage Clean and Green.
INTER CLASS AD-MAD COMPETITION

Competitions play a vital role in motivating students to perform, excel and offer a reward more precious than just winning a prize. They provide them an opportunity to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Bal Sabha activities and competitions provide the children a platform to explore their creativity and adopt innovative techniques to develop their ideas and skills. The preliminary round of the Inter Class Bal Sabha Competition Ad-Mad was conducted for the students of Class II & III on 06.05.22 & 07.05.22 respectively. Three students from each section of class II & III were selected for the final round which was organised on 12.05.22.
The finalists presented advertisements on the topic, ‘Healthy Food Items.’ They displayed their oratory skills and presented advertisements showcasing a wide range of healthy foods like yogurts, fruits, honey, health drinks etc. and highlighted their benefits.
Ms. Reetu Dawar, Headmistress Primary Department, Pusa Road also graced the occasion and motivated the students who were enthusiastic and participated with complete brilliance and amazing effort.

Various Bal Sabha Activities are embedded in the academic calendar with a core aim to foster all round development of the children and hone their skills. These activities are meticulously planned to develop qualities like problem-solving, reasoning, critical thinking and creative thinking in them.
Bookmark Making Competition was organized for the students of Class I & III on 5 May, 2022. They worked enthusiastically and showcased their artistic imagination. This fun-filled activity unleashed their creativity on paper with a message to learn and follow. The children created colourful bookmarks on the theme Good Health and Well-being. The thought provoking slogans and messages on the bookmarks highlighted the importance of a happy and healthy life.

INTER-HOUSE FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
The Inter-House Fancy Dress Competition was organised by the Primary Department, GR Campus on January 19, 2023 The theme of the competition was ‘Be the Change’ which was presented by the vivacious, creative and talented students of the department. The theme was based on the Sustainable Development Goals charted by the United Nations.
As the famous proverb, “Those who sing pray twice” goes, the competition began with the heart-warming melody of the choir. Ms. Rupinder Kaur (TGT Geography) and Ms. Sukriti Sehgal (TGT English) presided over as judges for the occasion. Lauding the participants for their fervour, they patiently assessed each participant with reposeful demeanour and resourceful charisma. The students displayed their unwavering skills and talent by dressing up as their favourite SDG Goals and presented their idea of revolution through the same.
The students were felicitated with such warmth and empathy by the judges that they felt re-energised to give their all for time to come.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
The Primary Department, GR Campus organised their Christmas Celebrations with oomph and glory by decorating the auditorium, singing Christmas carols and special morning assembly.
The students rejoiced in the happiness and positivity of the flower-like blooming festival that brings with it smiles and calm each year.

Proud to be a Bal Bharatian is an initiative by the Child Education Society to create awareness among the students about the rich culture and tradition of the Bal Bharati Public Schools.
Activities were organised under this initiative for the month of October and November 2022. The activity organised for the students of Class IV was to make the School Symbol on a cut out of a kite or a kite itself whereas students of Class V were guided by the teachers to understand the vision and mission of this great institution and write this on an A4 size sheet.
The students from both the grades participated enthusiastically. It was great learning for them to know and understand the meaning of their school logo, its mission and its vision, specifically.
INTER-HOUSE VOCAL MUSIC COMPETITION
Music is one of the most loved art forms. The strains of melody soothe one’s mind and soul, instilling joy and peace. It is a powerful medium to express one’s thoughts and feelings.
The Primary Department, GR Campus organised the Inter House Vocal Music Competition on November 17, 2022. The theme for the event was ‘Prakriti Sanrakshan ka Gaan: Hum Sabka Maan’ incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals 14 and 15 – Life Below Water and on Land. The programme commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony to invoke the blessings of the almighty followed by a melodious rendition by the school choir. The judges, Ms. Archana Srivastva, Music Teacher- Senior Department and Mr. Suman Kumar Jha, Music Teacher – Middle Department, were cordially invited to assess the performances.
The competition comprised two segments – Vocal Rendition and Introduction by the Speaker.
Students dressed in colourful attires were lauded by the judges for their inspiring and enthusiastic performances.

DYSLEXIA AWARENESS MONTH
Bal Bharati Public School, GR assures a healthy and safe environment for its children to learn, grow and promote inclusivity. The month of October has been declared as Dyslexia Awareness Month by the International Dyslexia Association. The theme for the year 2022 is “Breaking through Barriers”. Dyslexia is not a disorder of any kind; but is a learning impairment that causes problems with writing, reading, and spelling. A Poster Making Activity was organised in the Primary Department, GR Campus on October 20, 2022. The event was organised by the Special Education Teachers, Ms. Sonali Sehgal and Ms. Lakshita Sharma. The children actively participated to honour the noble cause.
INTER-HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION
Dancing is an art. It can be an expression of joy, love or rage. It can convey everything from an honest to a powerful moment.
To create awareness in students regarding women empowerment , Inter-House Dance Competition was organised in the school auditorium. Students of Classes IV and V presented their inspiring and vibrant dance performances.
The Inter-House Competition was conducted on 31 October 31, 2022 on the theme ‘Empowered Women Empower Nations’ taken from ‘Gender Equality : UN Sustainable Development Goals’. The judges, Mr. Raghavendra (TGT Dance) and Mr. Ankush (Drama Teacher) were cordially invited to assess the performances.The elegant and powerful performances of the students justified the theme beautifully. The presentations were appreciated by the audience. It was for sure a delightful experience for everyone.

The Primary Department, GR Campus took an initiative,“Spreading Smiles-Joy of Giving ” on the auspicious occasion of Diwali : the Festival of Lights. Each student of the department decorated a diya and gifted the same to school helpers keeping alive the spirit of the festival. Rejoicing in the spirit of Diwali, the students of the department decorated the School Amphitheater using their artistic and creative skills. The cultural and vibrant tradition of Diwali was brought to fore by the students through their captivating and colourful rangoli designs which won appreciation from one and all. Children with Special Needs also actively involved themselves in decorating diyas with small beads which helped them develop their fine motor skills. Their artwork was displayed in the School Amphitheater as part of Diwali Celebrations 2022. The beautifully decorated diyas were a treat to everyone’s eyes and were highly lauded by the guests who came to visit the display.
INTER-HOUSE HINDI POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION
Inter-House Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition on the theme ‘Shiksha- Ek Amulya Ratna’ was organised for the students of Class IV to create awareness in students regarding the importance of education. The competition was organised on September 15, 2022 in the School Auditorium. Ms. Anju Arora, TGT Hindi and Ms. Ritu Sharma TGT Hindi (Hindi teachers, Middle Department) were the judges for the day. It was gratifying to see students express their poems with confidence, clarity and delightful expressions. They presented their thought-provoking ideas and opinions through beautiful, inspiring poems.
The performances were judged on the basis of selection of the poem, memory and elocution. The presentations were appreciated by the audience and the judges.

PROUD TO BE A BAL BHARATIAN
Child Education Society, the apex body of Bal Bharati Public Schools and other institutions, was set up in the year 1944, in the Pre-independence era when there was a dire need to spread and preserve Indian culture, heritage, tradition and ethos. The 78 year old organisation took another spectacular initiative known as ‘Proud to be a Bal Bharatian’ to educate the minds of young learners with love and honour for the institution nationwide.
Class IV students marked the states (other than Delhi) where the Bal Bharati Public Schools are located across India. Further, they were asked to write the names of branches of Bal Bharati Schools located in Delhi NCR and paste their pictures as well on an A-4 Size Coloured Sheet whereas Class V students wrote the names of the distinguished branches of Bal Bharati Public School spread across India and also mention the year in which they were established. They also found out about the members of the Child Education Society who contributed to its growth and evolution.
‘Proud to be a Bal Bharatian’ was a successful spin in the history of Bal Bharati Public Schools’ many initiatives.
AYAKSHA - Health and Care Managed School Clinics
The Primary Department - GR Campus observed a grandesque medical drive for the Class IV and V. Students went through a thorough medical checkup on July 19, 2022 as initiated by AYAKSHA -Health and Care Managed School Clinics. The initiative filled the students with the knowledge and awareness to cater to both their physical as well as psychological needs.
It was indeed a fruitful experience for the health-conscious learners of the department.
TOY PEDAGOGY PRESENTATION
Albert Einstein commented “I never teach my pupils, I only provide the conditions in which they can learn”.
The teachers from Primary Department of PR and GR campus set forth on the magnanimous display of the various toys, puppets and games which they had learned to curate in the two-day toy pedagogy workshop undertaken by Ms. Seema Wahi Mukherjee and Mr. Tushar Tamhane. The presentation was observed and applauded by the Honourable Principal, Mr. Laksh Vir Sehgal, the Vice-Principal, Ms. Vineeta Dhawan along with the esteemed headmistresses on 14th July, 2022 in the school auditorium. The workshop was a sight of celebration as an interdisciplinary approach was put together and the toys were played with, discussed and portrayed with love, respect and acceptance.
INTER-HOUSE SWAY MAKING COMPETITION
The Primary Department - GR Campus observed a successful Inter-House Sway Making competition using Microsoft Sway on 14th July, 2022. The students of class IV and V webbed through an array of ideas on the topic ‘Wellness : Key to Happiness. Shastri House secured the first position followed by Mother Teresa on the second and Subhash on third.
The efforts partaken by the young learners was an enriching and exciting experience.

CBSE READING CHALLENGE
“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” —Richard Steele With an objective to encourage and evaluate the reading skills in learners, CBSE organized a Reading Challenge across schools for classes VI-VIII. The Middle Department conducted the first round of the challenge on 30 November 2022 for its students. The avid readers participated enthusiastically and attempted the assigned tasks within the time limit of one hour. The challenge witnessed a heartening participation of 40 students from VI, VII and VIII respectively. The best two achievers,
from each class, will be selected after careful assessment of the papers, who will appear for the consecutive levels. The evaluation will be done by the English faculty members of the department.
INTER HOUSE ACTIVITY
The Middle Department conducted an inter-house debate competition for the students of class VI-VIII. The competition was conducted on 22nd November, 2022. Teams comprising of two participants each from all the houses enthusiastically took part in the competition. The aim of organizing debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The session was the kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspective that enhanced the knowledge and understanding about the cashless economy among students. Jawahar House secured the First Position followed by Subhash House at Second Position and Shivaji House at Third Position.
SANSKRIT EXHIBITION INAUGURATION
Celebrating the pure spirit of the language, a Sanskrit Exhibition was inaugurated in the school premises on 18 November 2022. The event was graced by Professor Omnath Bimli, Head of the Sanskrit Department of Delhi University, as the Chief Guest along with retired Indian Administrative Officer Mr. N.P. Singh. As the Special Guest, Shri K. C. Tripathi (Sr Professor at NCERT) and Dr. Sunil Joshi (News Editor and Speaker of Sanskrit desk of DD News) were present. Dr Ved Prakash Mishra, Education Officer of the Board of Education of India, illuminated the event as the Guest of Honour. One teacher and two students from all over Delhi's private i.e non-administrative self-financed schools and government schools were also invited to visit the grand opening program of the exhibition with the objective of helping in disseminating Sanskrit and Indian education system through such visionary events. The organization of such an exhibition based on the science
of Sanskrit is very inspiring for the coming generations to imbibe the scientific knowledge, spirituality and ideals of Sanskrit in their lives and become familiar with them. The exhibition was displayed from 18-21 November 2022 in the school auditorium. The organization of such a visionary event was only possible with the perennial support of our revered Principal LV Sehgal along with our eminent Vice Principal Ms Vinita Dhawan, Headmistress Ms Nita Nijhara, Chief Coordinator Ms Sapna Bahl, Ms Reetu Dawar, Headmistress PR Campus, Ms Neelam Ahuja, Headmistress Montessori Department, esteemed members of the PTA and our effervescent Sanskrit faculty. The event was an ensemble of wisdom, grandeur, spirituality and science which garnered a lot of appreciation and praise from the parents and students alike. CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
In order to add laughter and brightness to the gleaming faces of our children, the Middle Department of the school celebrated Children’s Day on 14 November 2022 by declaring it a ‘Bag Less Day’ for all. Students from classes VI-VIII were earnestly engaged in an array of activities organised by the school. The day began with a short and inspirational film on the importance of Children’s Day and how it gained prominence in India. The spirit of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and his orientation towards the welfare of children, made him a popular figure amongst all. Our revered Headmistress ma’am extended her wishes and blessings to all the children by spreading sweetness in the form of candies. Children were assigned different creative tasks like Class VI made profoundly beautiful bookmarks, Class VII designed magnificent cards and Class VIII emerged with magical marvels in the form of colourful ‘Dreamcatchers’. They set themselves free and within the boundaries of discipline uplifted the spirits of the day. This was followed by some quality time interaction with the class teacher.. Students utilised this time in giving a makeover to their classrooms with the help of balloons, shimmery curtains and flowers. They discussed their ambitions in life and also played games like Tambola, musical chairs, UNO etc. Children savoured the delicious cuisines they had brought along with their friends. They were thrilled and ecstatic in their disposition and relished every moment of it. The esteemed members of the PTA visited all the classes and distributed chocolates as a token of their love and blessings. In the last 3 periods, students were shown an animated movie ‘Christmas Chronicles’. Children were entertained with the
light-hearted audio visual presentation.
SPECIAL ASSEMBLY
GURPURAB AND CHILDREN’S DAY
The students of class VII A presented their assembly on the theme: Gurpurab & Children’s Day on 09 November 2022. The famous teachings of Guru Nanak were shared with the gathering. Music choir of the class sang a soulful rendition of popular Sikh Gurbani-Ek Onkar. On the occasion of Children’s Day, students dressed as Nehru Ji, in white kurta pajamas and Nehru caps, gifted roses to Principal Sir, Headmistress Ma’am and all teachers of the Middle Department. It was an expression of their gratitude towards their mentors and acknowledging the hard work put by them in shaping them. Music and dance is essential to any school programme and the assembly had enough dose of the same.
INTER HOUSE PAINTING COMPETITION: AAKRITI
With an objective to create awareness amongst our learners regarding the sustainable goal of ‘Clean Water and Sanitation’, an inter house painting competition ‘Aakriti’ was organised by the Middle Department on 18 October 2022 in the school auditorium. The competition witnessed an enthralling participation by 80 students (10 from each house) who, with the vivid strokes of imagination, painted the gruesome realities of improper hygiene and ways to improve the situation across the globe. SHASTRI HOUSE received First position followed by SHIVAJI HOUSE and MOTHER TERESA.

School is a miniature of society. It is not just a building but an edifice for brewing ideas and creating informed and responsible individuals. This vision and mission has always been the cornerstone for the members of the Child Education Society, an apex body of Bal Bharati Schools and other institutions which was set up in 1944. The pre independence set up of the society demanded from its members, the zeal and vigour to educate young minds and bring about hope and enlightenment. With an objective to acquaint our modern learners with the stalwarts who, with their dedication and foresightedness, built a progressive system of education, a plethora of activities were conducted by the Middle Department of the school from 17 October 2022 till 21 October 2022. The students of classes VI-VIII read about the founding members of the school and expressed their views through colourful presentations.
MATHS PREMIER LEAGUE
Countingwell- An interative Maths Application organized a virtual inter school mega event ‘Maths Premier League’ from 12 July-6 August 2022. It aimed at enhancing the mathematical skills of the learners prepared them with strong foundational concepts and provided them with an opportunity to win exciting prizes. 268 students were registered from classes VI-IX, out of which 89 qualified the base line assessment and three students from our school were ranked among top 3 in different categories and awarded medals.

VISUAL विरासत

In our collective endeavor to cater to the immediate need to practice Sustainable Development along with the SDG goals put forward by the UNICEF, Interhouse Committee of the Middle Department organized its second inter house event of the session, ‘VISUAL विरासत’. The aim of the event was to create awareness about different sustainable cities and their journey towards practicing Sustainability every day. The participating teams had to choose a sustainable city and design immersive learning visuals using the software Microsoft ThingLink. The participants were supposed to showcase what makes the chosen city sustainable. Various dimensions like its path towards sustainability, historical and geographical significance were taken into consideration. The highlight of the event was the creative representation by each team, justifying their city to be labelled Sustainable. Subhash emerged as the winner followed by Shivaji House at second and CV Raman at third position respectively.
LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOP
21st-century children need an education that aims at their holistic development and caters to their academic, physical, social, psychological and emotional evolution. We at Bal Bharati Public School provide ample educational opportunities to all the students that enable them to venture into new horizons with confidence.
The Middle Department of the school organized the two sessions of Life Skills Workshop on 10 August 2022 and 17 August 2022, for the students of class VII (A to H).The theme of the workshops was ‘Nurturing Positive Mental Health’ and ‘Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills’ which is relevant to all the learners of the present times. The resource person Ms. Jyotsna Bharadwaj (Founder Director Envision India Edu services) oriented the students about valuable life skills which aid all to make reformed choices and accept the challenges posed by day to day situations. She discussed diverse issues with the young learners and gave her experienced insights related to happiness and positive attitude.
PTA ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD CEREMONY

The last two years of online training didn’t provide the opportunity to celebrate the academic success of our erudite minds. Therefore, the Middle Department organised the PTA Academic Achievement Award Ceremony for the sessions 2020-21 and 2021-22 on 17 August 2022, to laud the scholastic achievers for their astounding performance in the respective sessions. The event was graced by our revered Principal Mr LV Sehgal along with all the members of the PTA and headmistress Ms Nita Nijhara. The students of class VIII received the award first followed by class VII and class VI.
VALUE EDUCATION PROGRAMME
The Middle Department of the school conducts Value Education Sessions for its students under the framework of ‘Awakened Citizen Programme’ initiated by the Ramakrishna Mission. The objective of each session is to acquaint learners with the importance of identifying our morals and hence paving the way for a meaningful education.

The teachings of Swami Vivekananda have always inspired the people to follow the path of righteousness and honesty. The Ramakrishna Mission has formulated the ‘Awakened Citizen Programme’, with chronologically arranged modules for the students of classes VI-VIII, highlighting the values and principles that Swami Vivekananda promoted in his life lessons. The first session of the programme for classes VI-VIII was conducted on 29 July 2022 in the zero period. The session was an introduction to the programme wherein students were urged to focus on their unique and infinite possibilities.
FINANCIAL LITERACY SESSIONS
With an objective of acquainting the learners to the importance of money and finance in life, the school commenced with an innovative programme on ‘Financial Literacy’ for the students of classes VI-VIII from July 2022. The initiative is facilitated by Ms Anjali Kaushik, Ms Kaveri Kamra and Ms Saumya Sharma through interactive modules designed by them. The students are engaged in a lively discussion wherein the value of money and the right ways to invest it were discussed. The programme strives to teach learners from a tender age about simple methods to save what they earn like opening a bank account. The sessions for classes VI, VII and VIII are conducted in the auditorium, with an overwhelming attendance. The initiative has received positive feedback from the students and parents.
GURU POORNIMA 2022
To celebrate the astounding essence and glorious presence of teachers in our lives, the Middle Department of the school conducted a plethora of activities on the occasion of Guru Poornima on 13 July 2022. The activities, like Poster Making, Thank You Letters, Book Mark Designing, Poem recitation, Yogic chanting of Guru Mantras, Instrumental Music resonating the song ‘Humko Mann Ki Shakti Dena’, aimed at highlighting the importance of Guru in a student’s life as well as rekindling the “Guru-Shishya” connect which is at the center of Indian culture.

Students of Senior and Senior Secondary Department of Bal Bharati Public School, GRHM wore their 'Gourmet expert Caps' to exhibit their culinary skills in ‘Cooking Without Fire’ Inter House competition held on August 05, 2022, Friday at ATAL lab. Children participated with full enthusiasm and zeal, as they dispensed out nutritious yet appetizing delicacies, selected post comprehensive exploration of the cultural backgrounds of the relevant recipes chosen from the allotted eight states (Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, West Bengal, Gujarat, Goa, Bihar and Maharashtra) to each of the eight houses.
They served the dishes in a creative and aesthetic way, which was eye appealing and the display was a visual treat tickling to the taste buds. Each house prepared 3-4 items which included a snack, drinks and a main dish of the state allocated. The judges for the day were Mrs. Preeti Saxena and Mrs. Shashi Sahni who judged on the basis of Creativity, Presentation, Research and Narration.
Judges interacted with the budding chefs to figure out the elements of the recipes, dietary benefit and the authentic meaning of the dishes prepared by them. Judges were overawed by the efforts of the participants and results were announced amidst tough competition. Presence of respected Principal Sir and Vice Principal Ma’am gave immense motivation to students who took part in the competition.
First position was secured by Mother Teresa House, closely followed by Ashoka House which bagged the second position. The third position was shared between C.V. Raman and Subhash House. Through this activity, the students inculcated the spirit of teamwork, culinary skills, tolerance and gratefulness to appreciate the hard work put into cooking. The aim of the activity was also to provide a platform for students to showcase their talent and explore new areas of interest. Overall, the competition went well and the entire set up and arrangements were made by Mother Teresa house, as they were the house on duty.
INTER HOUSE DECLAMATION COMPETITION - 6TH MAY 2022

Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg, Senior Secondary Department, Subhash House organized the Inter House Declamation Competition on Friday , 6th May 2022 .The aim of the competition was to enhance public speaking skills of the students and learn to be communicative while expressing their knowledge and views.
The speakers of Class XII of all 8 houses spoke fluently on the topics based on the SDG goal ‘General Health and Well-being’. Each house had two speakers and all of them were allotted different topics as per the theme. Our eminent panel of jury members were Ms. Radha Nair (PGT English) and Ms.Neenu Singh (PGT English). The session was a pleasant shower of opinions, views, knowledge and perspectives that enhanced the level of understanding of the theme among students. The participants armed with their content which was specially designed, matched with their expression and voice modulation made their views even more effective. They all exhibited great oratory skill.
House wise the 1st position was bagged by C V Raman House, II position was won by Ashoka house and the III position was won by Shivaji House in this event.
In the Individual winners category of the event, the 1st position was bagged by Simran Choudhary, 2nd position was bagged by Neev Sharma and the 3rd position bagged by Naisha Sethi and Pranjal Khajuria respectively.
The program was conducted smoothly and attained the target and its designated goal under the able guidance of our House Coordinator, Ms. Nita Nijhara. The competition was an enlightening experience for the speakers as well as the audience.
