Activity: Nature is the Best Healer

In the Club   Activity conducted on 17 February 2022, the students learnt about some plants with medicinal value. They also learnt how medicinal plants are beneficial in prevention of different diseases. A guided tutorial apprised them of the various benefits of Aloe Vera. They prepared Aloe Vera gel using natural Aloe Vera leaves with the help of the demonstration included in the module. The activity would go a long way in encouraging the children to explore the natural environment.

Activity: Granny’s Helpful Remedies

In the Club   Activity - ‘Granny’s Helpful Remedies’ conducted on 20 January 2022, the students were apprised of the fact that we need nature more than nature needs us. The students were made aware of the importance of various medicinal plants like neem, tulsi etc. Thereafter, they learnt to make a natural nontoxic mosquito repellent by using only two basic items easily available in their homes .The tutorial video was followed by a gratitude song for grandmothers for their unconditional love and care. The students were encouraged to become Green Warriors- Superheroes, by sharing these eco- friendly non toxic, natural mosquito repellents with their neighbours, friends, relatives  and community helpers.

Activity: Helping Our Feathered Friends

In the Club   Activity -Helping our Feathered Friends conducted on 18 November 2021, the students were apprised of the different components of the environment and presence of various types of birds in nature. They also learnt about the importance of various birds for farmers and agricultural purposes. Thereafter, they made creative bird feeders using waste material. The activity would go a long way in encouraging the children to explore the natural environment and adopt threes C's- compassion, concern and consideration towards the living creatures and various benefits of plants for us.

Activity: Flora Trails 

With an aim to appreciate the beauty of nature and spark students’ imagination, the Club conducted the activity, ’Flora Trails’  on 21.10.21. In this activity, the students were apprised of different types of flowers and their multiple uses through a guided module. They also learnt about the flowers which can be used for making attractive rangoli designs. The magical imagination of our vibrant young minds was in play after watching the module. They showcased their creative skills and made beautiful rangoli designs using the colourful petals of different flowers.

Activity : Leafy Prints

In the activity, ’Leafy Prints’ conducted on 23.09.21, the students were first apprised about the abundant types of leaves present in nature and the importance of various leaves for medicinal and other purposes. Thereafter, they learnt to create a beautiful toran or bandhanwar by using various leaves and flowers that are easily available in their surroundings with the help of a guided tutorial video posted on the Connected Classroom portal. The students were encouraged to become Green Warriors- Superheroes, by sharing their creations with their neighbours and community helpers as a token of love and respect.

Activity: Beautifying the Garden

The students learnt how to make beautiful garden sticks using cut-outs of useful insects through a guided module uploaded on Connected Classrooms Portal. They made attractive garden sticks and used them to enhance the beauty of their garden or simply placed them inside the pots at home. They also learnt about different useful insects.

Activity: My Best Friend - My Planter

In the activity organized in July, the students were apprised of the importance of pure air. They learnt to make beautiful planters using easily available money plant and waste bottles, jars and cans. They were sensitized about the favourable conditions for plant growth. The students also enjoyed a mellifluous song based on the theme of the activity. 

Activity: Mother Nature - Love her or lose her

With an aim to develop an appreciation for nature and engage the students in a hands-on learning experience of nurturing Mother Earth, the Activity- Mother Nature - Love her or lose her,  was organised on 22.04.21. It turned out to be a great way to invoke ‘green consciousness’ and counsel them about the need and ways to preserve Mother Nature for a better tomorrow. The students were apprised of the importance of Waste Management, the use of different bins, and making compost from kitchen waste. They also learnt to grow saplings. The follow-up activity also included writing a pledge to save Earth, using a cut-out of the Earth with their hand impression.
