Activities:Primary Department PR (Session 2019-2020)

Festin-o - Beat - 12.02.20 

Annual Music Programme - ‘Festin-o-Beat’ was organised on 12.02.20. This year the theme for the event was – Nationalism. The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Headmistress Ms. Sunita Gehani followed by a Saraswati Vandana by the school choir. The choir also presented a mesmerising and thoughtful song – ‘Gun Gaan Bharat Ka’ which captured the essence of the diversity of our country. The musical treat was followed by a street play which highlighted the menace of plastic pollution in our lives and was aimed at sensitizing the  students. The  Grand Finale was in the form of an enthralling dance performance by a group of 70 talented dancers.

The presentation was an amalgamation of dances from Punjab , Rajasthan and Garhwal. The programme concluded with an address by the Headmistress who applauded the effort of all the students and teachers for putting up a spectacular show.

Yoga Display -03.02.20

With an aim to motivate the children to adopt healthy habits at an early age, Yoga is taught to them at school. It enhances their strength, coordination and flexibility. It also reduces their anxiety & stress and promotes a sense of calmness.

The students showcased their yoga skills in the Yoga Display organised on 3.02.20. The participants performed different asanas and made various attractive formations while displaying various yoga postures.

Chess Competition- Class I, II , III

 

Inter-class Chess Competition for the students of Class I II and III was organised on 22.01.20, 23.01.20 and 24.01.20 respectively.

Sixty students participated in the tournament and played five rounds to showcase their skills. The final ranking was obtained with the help of a software used for international matches. Children played with true sportsman spirit and high order of concentration.

Quizzania- Class II (16.01.19) 

 

Interclass G.K Quiz- Quizzania was organised for the students of Class II on 16.01.20. To provide an opportunity to all the students, a preliminary round was held in each section in which all the students attempted a worksheet and the best three students from each section were selected for the final round.

The quiz masters for the final round were Ms. Megha Arora and Ms. Shivani Arora.

Four time- bound rounds were conducted by the quiz masters which challenged the participants and tested their general awareness, presence of mind, promptness along with factual knowledge.

The quiz was conducted in a very interactive way and all the teams participated with great enthusiasm. The audience also got a chance to participate every time the teams answered incorrectly.

Children’s Day Celebration 2019

To mark the Children’s Day Celebration in school an Art Competition was organised for the students on 16.11.19. The theme for the competition was - Playtime / My Sibling.

A host of activities was also organised on 21.11.19. The day commenced with a special assembly. The colourful presentation emphasised the importance of this day and  gave the students a glimpse of Chacha Nehru’s  life. The assembly was followed by ‘Thought for the Day’, a daily ritual aimed at not only instilling moral values but also providing the students an opportunity to enhance their speaking skills. The thought chosen for the day highlighted children as treasure of the world.

Next the students were engaged in a Paper Folding Craft Activity. Students of Class II and III made Nehru Cap and Dove respectively. The students of Class I made a beautiful rose using colourful ribbons.
The Craft Activity was followed by Cooking without Fire Activity in which our little chefs tried their hands on nutritious bhelpuri and healthy salad.

The objective of all the activities was to keep the children involved in something meaningful and give them an opportunity to build positive relationships with their peers, teachers and most importantly feel connected with their school.

The most loved part of the day was indeed the visit of the PTA members who distributed sweets to the children and showered their love and blessing on them.

The overwhelmed children carried back home fun-filled moments to cherish forever.

Show and Tell Competition - My Hero (20.09.2019)

Inter-Class, Show and Tell Competition - My Hero, was organised for the students of Class II on 20.09.19.

The topic for the competition was ‘My Hero’. The preliminary round was conducted on 12.9.19 and best three students from each section were selected for the final round.

The students showed the picture of the famous Indian Personality they idolise and spoke about their real life heroes. The competition was aimed at providing an opportunity to children to enhance and showcase  their public speaking skills. The judges Ms. Shikha Kapur and Ms. Anu Sehgal judged the participants on parameters like content, presentation , confidence and expression.

Inter House Group Song Competition (13.09.2019)

Inter House Group Song Competition - Voice was organised for the students of Classes I,II and III on 13 September,2019.The theme of the competition was patriotic songs. Each house presented a Hindi patriotic song prepared under the guidance of the music teacher, Mrs.Chetna Arora.

The Judges Dr. Garima Gupta Aggarwal and Mr. Anil Misra applauded the passion, confidence and patriotic feeling of the participants.

Intra-Class  competition organised by PTA

To commemorate 75 years of the Child Education Society & Bal Bharati Public School, GRH Marg and mark Teachers’ Day celebration in school the PTA organised an Intra-Class  competition for the students. The students of Class I , II and III made thank-you cards,  bookmarks and folders with a short self composed poem respectively, showcasing 75 glorious years of the school and  expressed gratitude towards their teachers and the school. The students showcased their creativity and participated with great enthusiasm.

Show & Tell Competition - Gadget Guru  (Class III - 12.09.19) 

 

Inter Class Show & Tell Competition - Gadget Guru was organised for the students of Class III on 12.9.19.

The preliminary round of the competition was held on 6.9.19 and  three students from each section were selected for the final round.

The participants explored & confidently spoke about different gadgets like I-Pad, Robot, Fitness Band, Fitbit Watch, Kindle, Alexa, Smart Speaker, HP Inkjet Printer, Chandrayaan 2 etc.

The judges Ms. Sonia Batra and Ms. Geetanjali Chaudhary judged them on parameters like content, originality, confidence and presentation. The Headmistress, Ms.Sunita Gehani also graced the occasion and congratulated the winners.

Words a Worth - Class I (01.08.19) 

 

An Intra Class English Poem Recitation Competition 'Words a Worth' was conducted for the students of Class I on 1 August, 2019. The theme of the competition was ‘Animals’.
The participants enthusiastically recited thought provoking poem on the theme and exhibited enthusiasm and confidence.
They were judged on the parameters like content , pronunciation,voice modulation and confidence. Five best entries from each section were awarded certificate of merit.

Words a Worth - Class II (18.7.19) 

 

The final round of English poem  recitation competition- Words a Worth for the students of Class II was organised on 18.7.19.
The intra -class preliminary round was conducted  on 11.7.19 and three students students from each section were selected to represent their respective classes. The theme for the competition was - Animals. The participants exhibited confidence and delivered their poems with enthusiasm. Some highlighted the plight of the  endangered animals while some reflected  the joy of their  company  as pets.
Ms. Pushpinder Kaur and Ms. Kunjan Bhutani adjudged the participants on various parameters like content, originality, pronunciation, memory and expression. They applauded the performance of all the students.

Cleanliness Drive - 12.07.2019

 

To make the students aware towards the need for keeping our surroundings clean and thus contributing towards a clean and green planet, a cleanliness drive was organised by Bal Bharati Public School, GRH marg (PR campus) on 12.07.2019.

Before initiating the drive, the teachers told the students that Earth is the only planet where we can live. Thus it is our moral duty but to protect our planet which is in DANGER because of the mess created by us humans. The teachers and students promised to keep the school, home and city clean by doing their bit. They promised that they would neither litter nor would let anyone litter around. Followed by this, the students of classes I, II and III along with all the staff members actively took part in the drive and cleaned the classrooms and the corridors. Adorned with caps and aprons, equipped with a duster, the students happily engaged themselves in the drive. The students realized that any work is best when it is carried out on a positive note. It also made the students aware about the dignity of labour.

This activity served to be helpful in reinforcing the importance of cleanliness in them. Students were given handy tips to be environment friendly .A classroom discussion on making our campus PLASTIC FREE was also conducted. Students were told the hazards of using plastic and how it is causing harm to the Mother Earth and the entire mankind.

Words a Worth - Class III (11.7.19) 

 

The final round of the English poem recitation competition - ‘Words a Worth’ for the students of Class III was held on 11.7.19. Three students from each section, who were selected in the intra-class preliminary round held on 9.5.19 represented their respective classes. The theme of the competition was Nature.

The participants exhibited confidence and recited the poem with brilliant intonation and expression. Their poems reflected the different aspects of nature and highlighted the threat humans are posing to it.

The judges Ms. Seema Sharma and Ms. Rachna Chaudhary judged the participants on parameters like - originality, pronunciation, expression and confidence. Headmistress, Ms. Sunita Gehani applauded the performance of all participants. She interacted with the students and highlighted the need for individual effort for  saving and protecting the nature and Mother Earth.

The Sports Activity-Circuit Race ( Class III) - 11.4.19

Inter house Sports Activity- Circuit Race was organised for the students of Class III on 11.4.19.

The hurdle race compromised five stations - Zig -Zag Run, Crossing the Ladder,   Jumping over Hurdles, Crawl through the Arc and Push the Ball. Each participant had to cross all the stations by passing through the obstacles placed there. The activity was aimed at developing agility, strength and stamina in the students.
