Annual Art Activity 

 

Annual Art Activity was organised for the students os Classes I,II and III on 11 February 2021. The students submitted their drawings as per the following  themes -

Class I  : Cartoon Characters enjoying Spring Serenity.

Class II : Love and Care for grandparents.

Class III: Celebration of any National Festival.

The best 6 entries from each class were showcased in a video which was shared on Connected Classrooms. The Activity provided our children an opportunity to create and express their desires on the given themes and enhanced their creativity.

Craft Activity 

 

To encourage, nurture and showcase every child's natural, creative flair, a Craft Activity was organised virtually on 4 March 2021. The students of classes I, II, III exhibited their talent by making a book mark, pen stand, decorating a shoes box or small basket respectively. The little craftsmen unleashed their creativity and made exemplary craft pieces.

Festin-O-Beat 

On 18th February, 2021, Festin-o-Beat, a colourful and memorable cultural fest was organised virtually for Classes I,II & III on MS Teams. The students dressed up in colourful costumes sang folk songs from Rajasthan & Haryana with great enthusiasm. Our little dancers presented solo and duet folk dances and set the stage on fire with their thrilling performances. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Class III coordinator, Ms. Juhi Grover. The Headmistress, Ms. Sunita Gehani applauded the efforts and hard work of all the participants and staff members and congratulated them for putting put a brilliant show. The event was indeed a visual treat and showcased the talent of our students in performing arts. 

Quizzania 

General awareness Quiz is a much-awaited activity which triggers our young learners curiosity and makes them learn in a fun way. This year the Intra Class Quiz for classes I, II and III was conducted virtually. 

Google Forms were used to conduct the Preliminary Round of the Quiz on 28 January 2020. The top nine scorers from each class were selected for the final round.

The final round of Quizzania was conducted live on MS Teams on 6 February 2021 by the respective class teachers. The quiz rounds - Spell Alert, Jog your Brains, General Awareness, Environmental Awareness were aimed at testing the participants on various parameters like spontaneity, reasoning, speed, analytical thinking etc.

Top three scorers from each class were selected as winners. They were applauded for showcasing their brilliance by rapidly and correctly answering the questions.

The quote “ Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." truly reflects the aim and spirit of Quizzania.

Republic Day Celebrations 

To celebrate the soul of Republic day, to make our future leaders also participate in the celebration with immense pride and understand the significance of our great Indian Constitution, a host of activities was conducted for the students of Class I,II & III. The students were encouraged to draw pictures depicting the Republic Day parade, sing any one patriotic song symbolising the spirit of Republic day & Enact as one of the great Indians associated with the making of Indian Constitution or responsible for welfare of the country in pre-independence era. It was overwhelming to see the response of students through pictures and videos shared by them and how they took pride in being an Indian. The students pledged to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India. 

An interactive session with children of NGO Gali Paathshaala was also organised under the aegis of Aao Haath Barhayein Club, wherein the children from both the institution highlighted the importance of the occasion through their vibrant performances with patriotic fervour. 

 

Story Weaving Competition 

Story weaving is an art of creating a story, layering new ideas to build a vibrant tale with different characters. The students of Classes I,II and III participated in an inter class story weaving competition held virtually. The students wove an interesting story based on the picture provided. Three best entries from each class were shortlisted and then judged by a panel of teachers who selected the winners of the competition on parameters like voice modulation and pronunciation, Content and Creativity.The result was declared on 5th February, 2021. The students performed spectacularly narrated their stories using creative props, voice modulation and impressive expressions. The little story tellers engaged in creative thinking won everyone's heart.

Christmas Celebrations

 

The essence of Christmas came alive when the students and teachers got together and shared the merriment. The delightful celebrations included various activities. The significance of the festival, ways to celebrate it at home and with the community were highlighted. Special morning assembly was presented by the students. They also shared pictures and videos of the celebration with their family. They were engaged in a Creative Writing Activity through which they expressed their thoughts on the topic -If I were a Santa, I would....

To celebrate the festival virtually a special online class was also organised. Students were shown the Christmas story and carols. It was a joyous occasion and the students thoroughly enjoyed singing & dancing merrily on jingle bells and munching snacks during the virtual Christmas party.

The activities apprised our young learners of the joy of celebrating all the festivals with loved ones.

 Gurupurab Celebrations 

 

The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. Students were apprised about the principles, teachings and spiritual journey of Guru Nanak Dev ji through the virtual morning assembly presented by the students of class I. Children sang beautiful rendition of Ek Onkar and other Shabad. The message of universal brotherhood and harmony was reiterated to mark the occasion.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

 

The virtual Diwali celebrations illuminated everyone's heart with joy and fervour. The weeklong celebrations comprised some exhilarating activities for the students. Children made paper kandeels, colourful floral and paper rangoli and vibrant Ganesha masks. 

Special assemblies which highlighted the importance of Diwali and vivaciously captured the true spirit of the festival were presented by the students.

To sensitise our children and contribute towards the cause of green and clean Diwali, a green Diwali pledge was taken during online classes in both Hindi and English.

Further, the children were engaged in activities like making elaborate posters and creative writing as a part of vocabulary enrichment activity to apprise them of the hazardous effects of bursting crackers.

DUSSEHRA Celebrations 

 

Keeping the festive spirit alive even during the pandemic, Dussehra was celebrated with great zeal. To reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil a host of activities was conducted. Students indulged in hands-on craft activity and made splendid hand puppets, finger puppets, stick puppets and mask of Ravana. They also participating in creative writing on topics:

- The victory of good over evil.

- Celebrating Dussehra during Covid 19.

- Conquering the Ravana within.

The activities not only gave our learners an opportunity to ponder and attain positivity for bountiful & prosperous future but also helped them imbibe values of honesty, respect & humility.

 Children's Day Celebration

To commemorate the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Children's Day was celebrated with great fervour and a plethora of activities were conducted to make the day even more special for our beloved young learners. Special Assemblies highlighting the importance of the day were presented by the students of classes I-III. 

Art and Craft Activity was also organized for the students in which they made beautiful drawings and posters. The theme for the same was ‘Celebrating Diwali my way by visiting an animal shelter’, ‘Distributing sweets to underprivileged on Children's day’ and ‘Reaching out a neighbour in need’ for class I, II and III respectively. Keeping up the annual ritual this year too, virtual movie screening was also organized for the students. 

 Sports Activity: Introduction to Basketball

 

In the Bal Sabha Sports Activity - Introduction to Basketball, conducted on 6.08.20, the students of Class II were apprised of some basic dribbling skills related to basketball. They learnt how to dribble and balance a basketball through a tutorial video. The activity focused on - Short Dribble, High Dribble, Side Shuffling and Defensive Movement with Basketball.

 Sports Activity : Kho Kho

Students of Class II were apprised of the indigenous game - Kho-Kho through a guided tutorial shared on Connected Classrooms on 3 September 2020. The children enjoyed exploring the game which develops some desirable traits in children- sportsmanship, teamwork, loyalty, self-confidence, speed, agility and strategical thinking. This activity was not only aimed at shaping the body of our young learners but also sharpen their minds.

 Rhythmic Creations-English Poem Recitation Competition

 

Intra-class English Recitation Competition was organized virtually for the students of Classes I, II, and III on 30.7.20, 16.07.20, and 01.10.20 respectively. The theme for Class I was Mother Earth, Class II was Time and Class III was Seasons. All the participants confidently recited meaningful poems with correct pronunciation, intonation, tone, and voice modulation. They were judged on various parameters like Content and presentation. Best entries were declared as winners.

 Bal Sabha Activity – काव्यांजलि  Hindi Recitation Competition - Class I, II, and III

Intra-class Hindi Recitation Competition was organized virtually for the students of Classes I, II, and III on 17.9.20, 20.8.20, and 8.8.20 respectively. The theme for Class I and II was patriotism and the participants enthusiastically recited poems that reflected their pride and love for the country. The students of Class III recited Dohas and explained their meanings. The presentations by all the participants were mesmerizing and highlighted valuable moral lessons embedded in the couplets. 

 Bal Sabha Activity - Stage Craft (Roleplay Activity) 

Inter-Class Online Bal Sabha Activity – Stage Craft (Roleplay) was organized for the students of Class I, II and III on 27.8.20, 10.9.20 and 23.7.20 respectively.
Roleplay is one of the best ways of learning by doing thus Themes chosen for the competition were ‘Favourite Family Member’, ‘Community Helpers’ and’ Freedom Fighters’ for Class I, II and III respectively.
The students of Class I enacted as their mother, father, sister, uncle, aunt, grandmother or grandfather. The performances highlighted the roles of the different members of the family.
Participants of Class II enacted as different community helpers like sweeper, gardener, teacher, painter, newsreader, greengrocer, pharmacist, policeman, etc. The enactments highlighted how different helpers contribute to the development of society.
The students of Class III enacted as different freedom fighters as a part of the ISA project – Independence Fiesta wherein they are exploring the freedom struggles of India, Indonesia, Mexico and South Africa.

 Bal Sabha Activity - Swadesh

COVID-19 pandemic affected the education system worldwide and lead to the closure of schools and colleges across the globe. And this situation led to an unprecedented period of adaptation and switching over to Online or Virtual teaching.
As Bal Bharatians we can take pride in the fact that this transition and adaption to the New Normal was not only smooth but fruitful and productive too. We took this challenge in our stride and left no stone unturned to provide the students with the best possible opportunities for holistic growth and development.
In yet another endeavour to productively engage the students, the first online Bal Sabha Activity - Swadesh was organized for the students of Classes I, II, and III on 18.8.20, 14.8.20, and 8.8.20 respectively.
In the preliminary round of the Patriotic Song Singing Activity, the students participated in large numbers and two participants from each section were selected to perform live on Microsoft Teams. The live events were graced by PTA members; Headmistresses, Primary Department & Montessori Department Pusa Road, Chief co-ordinator along with parents and staff members.
The performance of all the participants which showcased their singing talent and love for their country was applauded by all. The overwhelmed parents appreciated the meticulous planning and efforts of the school towards including both scholastic and co-scholastic subjects in the day-to-day online learning of their children.

 Indoor Circuit Activity

 

Sports Activity - Indoor Circuit was conducted virtually for the students of Class I on 16.07.20. The activity focused on minor activities like squats, shuffling, plank, etc. Through a video tutorial, the students were explained the benefits of these exercises along with a step-by-step demonstration. They were motivated to perform them at home to remain active and healthy. 

 Virtual Summer Camp (15 to 30 June 2020) 

A virtual Summer camp was organized for the children of Classes I-III to meaningfully engage them in a rich mosaic of activities that were aimed at the development of their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative, and spiritual potential. Students participated in Vocal Music, Dance, Art, Story Narration, Cooking without Fire, Craft, and  English Conversation. The classes were conducted on Microsoft Teams and were indeed an enjoyable experience for all the participants.

 6th International Yoga Day 

6th International Yoga Day was celebrated virtually by the students of Classes I, II, and III on 21 June 20. An enlightening Yoga Session was organized for them on the official ‘Microsoft Teams’ platform and the link for the same was shared. All the students along with their family participated with enthusiasm and shared their pictures and videos.

 International Labour Day 

 

The International Labour Day was celebrated by the Primary Department, Pusa Road on 1st May 20. To make our young learners aware of the significance of this day, special Virtual Morning Assemblies were conducted. The students also made a rosette flower badge and gave it to different helpers around them such as – a vegetable vendor, policeman, watchman, etc. to thank them for their services and expressed their gratitude. 

Sports Activity: Broad Jump Race(23.04.20)

Sports Activity - Broad Jump Race was conducted virtually for the students of  Class II on 23 April,20. The students were apprised of the basic step-by-step technique through a guided tutorial. They had to reach the finishing line by jumping from a standing position ensuring they maintain body balance. This activity was a true measure to check the lower body balance and strength of our young champions.

Sports Activity - Wheel Barrow Activity

 

The Wheel Barrow Activity was conducted virtually for the students of Class III on 23 April,20. The students were apprised of the basic rules of the race. They skilfully worked in pairs with their siblings & friends and waddled towards the finish line together. Our Champions had heaps of fun and lots of giggles as they put their balance, coordination, strength, and teamwork skills to test! This activity was indeed a display of coalition and partnership.

 International Earth Day 

The 50th anniversary of International Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April 2020. Considering the limitations due to the lockdown in the country, technology was yet again used to connect and come together for the celebration. The celebration included Morning Assembly, Teacher Talk, and Pledge Taking Activity. The students were inspired to take a pledge to ‘Help Earth to Heal’ along with all their family members. The activity received an overwhelming response and the children shared pictures of the Pledge signed by their family. They promised to protect the Earth and help it flourish. Pledge taking by the students and their families took the Earth Day Celebration to another level. The activity reflected the linguistic diversity of our country as the students and parents sang and read the pledge in their regional language.
