Sports Day

The Sports Day for classes I to III was organized from 15 to 17 February 2017.  The programme included various track and field events like 50m dash, frog race, joker race, skipping race, relay race etc besides sports activities such as musical flag, hitting the target, bowling etc. The winners were awarded a certificate of merit and medal.

A football tournament was organized for the students of class III under the supervision of special coaches Ms. Namrata and Ms. Irin from AIFF. The winners of the tournament were also awarded certificate of merit and medals.

Orientation Programme

A mid-session Orientation Programme was conducted on 10 February 2017 for the parents of the Pre-School students to help them understand the changes in curriculum.

The programme commenced with a Prayer by students of Primary Department, PR Campus. In his address, the Principal, Mr. L.V Sehgal, highlighted the achievements of the School and students and answered the queries of the parents.

The headmistress, Ms Neelam Ahuja showcased an informative power point presentation focusing primarily on the new curriculum. On the occasion, Dr. Deepak Gupta, an eminent Psychiatrist from Sir Gangaram Hospital as the Guest Speaker, imparted several useful parenting tips and answered the queries of the parents in the subsequent interactive session. The programme concluded with light refreshments for all.

Republic Day

The school celebrated the 68th Republic Day of the Nation with much enthusiasm in its premises on 26 January 2017. The flag was hoisted by Principal, Mr L V Sehgal. Besides patriotic songs by the school choir, a song highlighting the importance of Literacy was also presented. It was scripted by Ms Anju Arora (TGT Hindi) and the music was composed by Mr Suman Jha (Asstt. Teacher).
Reyhaan Sabherwal (II B) and Kaavya Singh (II D) presented musical renditions on table and key board respectively. Head girl, Shivangi Malik explained the significance of the day while Head boy, Tanmay Khandelwal presented a motivational speech for attaining success. The Principal in his Address highlighted the importance of positivity and appreciative in life. The programme culminated with distribution of sweets to all.

 

Teachers’ Day

A special morning assembly was held on 2 September 2016 to mark the occasion of Teachers’ Day. The Principal Mr L V Sehgal, Head Mistress Ms Meena Malhotra, Teacher Coordinators and the Head girl and Head boy of each department kindled the ceremonial lamp and offered floral tribute to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The echoing notes of the Guru Vandana filled the air with devotion. Head girl, Shivangi Malik delivered and emotive speech highlighting the need to uphold the respect of the teaching profession. Ms Radha Nair, Convenor, Assembly programme, introduced the teachers who had completed 25 years of meritorious service to the school. The cultural programme consisting of an instrumental music rendition and a Bengali folk dance paid a befitting tribute to the teaching community. In his speech, the Principal shared his vision and ideals with students to inspire and guide them.

Investiture Ceremony

In an impressive display of school pride and dedication, the new team of office bearers were invested authority on 20 August 2016. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr Mahesh Batra, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, executive members of the PTA and Alumni association, parents of the appointees, and Proctorial Committee members. The programme consisted of varied cultural items, followed by the ceremony of bestowing honours on the new appointees. Mr Batra handed over the sash and badge to the office bearers.  As tradition demanded the older council relinquished responsibility to the new council with grace and by example. The new team received the responsibility with a pledge to preserve the pride of the school. Amidst the beat of drums TANMAY KHANDELWAL, the head boy AND SHIVANGI MALIK, the head girl held aloft the school flag and marched their team forward .The chief guest and Principal addressed the appointees and spoke words of encouragement and inspiration that would stand the team in good stead in the days to follow.

Independence Day Celebrations

On 15 August 2016, the school organised a programme to celebrate the Independence Day with great fervor. The Principal, Mr. L V Sehgal hoisted the National flag amidst the singing of National Anthem by all present. The choir of Primary Department, presented a medley of music upholding the values of patriotism. Head girl, Riya Khanna (XII A) explained the significance of the day while Head boy, Varun Sharma (XII C) spoke about the importance of youth in the progress of Nation. Suhani Grover (VII A) presented a poignant poem expressive of a soldier’s plea to all, to safeguard the Nation for which he laid down his life.

The Principal urged the youth to recognize their immense potential and play a proactive role in nation building. Kite Flying Competition was also organised to mark the occasion. Sweets were distributed to all present.

Spic Macay Workshop (Virasat 2016)

Under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, a Madhubani Workshop, conducted by Ms.Shanti Devi,a renowned Madhubani artist, was held from 1 to 5 August 2016. Sixty students from classes VI to X participated in the same and all.

Annual Play – 2016

On Saturday, 30 July 2016, the Dramatics Club of the school presented an abridged version of the play, “The Government Inspector” written by the reputed litterateur, Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. Mr Souti Chakraborty, an accomplished theatre personality, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The captivating humorous presentation by 30 students from class VIII to XI, while satirizing the corruption within the Russian bureaucracy, brought to fore the universal theme of human corruption.

The audience included the distinguished Mr LR Channa, President, CES and Chairman of the school along with Mrs Channa; Ms Meenu Goswami, Secretary (Manager) and Principal, BBPS Pitampura; members of the Managing Committee of the school; members of the Board of Management; Principals of other units of BBPS; members of the PTA and Alumni; parents of participating students and Literary Club Members; teachers and students of other schools; and the staff members of the school itself.

Ms Radha Nair, PGT English and Convener, Dramatics Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. She appreciated the tireless efforts and teamwork of the entire group that helped to make the production a grand success.

Annual Exhibition (Pusa Road Campus)

The Annual Exhibition was held at PR campus on 16 July 2016 on the theme ‘Spreadingschool_functions4 Happiness through Caring and Sharing’. The occasion was graced by Padam Shri Pandit Bhajan Sopori ji, renowned Santoor legend & music composer. The exhibition through different projects, models & posters highlighted the need to care for our family, friends, animals, plants & natural resources. The corner set up by the Special Educator highlighted the importance of ‘Inclusive Education’ for an unbiased society.

The Art corner displayed creative efforts of students in form of decorative stencils, large animal & human masks, paper weights and pencil stands. The Computer corner highlighted the importance of computers in our lives through creative collage work, table mats, key rings etc.

The complete arena was buzzing with enormous turnout of parents, children, PTA & Alumni members. The cultural programme constituting a prayer, welcome song and a Bengali Tribal folk dance performance was applauded by all.

The school organised its annual inter-school event, PULSE 2016-17 from 4 to 6 May 2016 for class II-XII. Students from 31 schools participated in a unique gamut of 19 competitions such as - Pulsatic Machine, Newsletter Making, Nanhi Kalam Se, Compguru, Advit, Innovative Footprints, Chem-o-Com, Ad Bonanza, Basket Decoration, Varda - Saraswati Vandana Pratiyogita, Eureka- Accidental Discoveries in Science etc. The events were adjudged by various dignitaries and subject experts. Individual prizes were awarded to the winning schools. Bal Bharati Public School, Noida was declared the Best School. The event indeed, offered a perfect platform to the students to showcase their talent.

Annual Day and Prize Distribution 2016

The school celebrated its Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function on Saturday, 9 April 2016. The Chief Guest was the distinguished Dr Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Director General, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) and the National Awardee Mr Tigmanshu Dhulia, renowned Film Director, Producer, Screenwriter & Actor graced the event as the Guest of Honour.

Presence of eminent guests and parents added to the grandeur and significance of the occasion. Among these were, Mr LR Channa, Chairman of the school and President, Child Education Society (CES); Dr V K Ahuja, Vice President, CES; and Ms Meenu Goswami, Secretary (Manager) of the school and Principal, BBPS, Pitampura.

The Principal, Mr L V Sehgal in his address highlighted the achievements of the school, staff and students during the academic session 2015-16 which was also showcased through an Audio Visual Presentation. More than 100 students received Prizes in various categories in both Scholastic and co-Scholastic areas. Ms Geeta Gangwani, Vice Principal was felicitated by the school’s Managing Committee for receiving the ‘State Teachers Award 2015.’ She also proposed the Vote of Thanks for the occasion.

SATRARAMBH

SATRARAMBH CEREMONY

Prayer and purification marked the commencement of the new academic session 2016-17. The Satrarambh Ceremony on 1 April 2016, commenced with lighting of the traditional lamp. The school Choir paid obeisance to Lord Ganesha & Goddess Saraswati with eloquent hymns. Mr Yuvraj, (TGT Sanskrit) exhorted students to value the blessings of good education and model themselves as righteous individuals. This was followed by ‘HAVAN’ ceremony conducted by Pandit Lalit Prasad Mishra. The programme concluded with melodious Bhajans presented by the Ms. Archana (TGT Music) and Mr. Suman Jha (Asstt. Teacher Music).
