Numero Mania Club (2018-2019)

Guess my Number 

The club activity organised on 14.02.19 was aimed at honing the mathematical skills of our young learners. It was a fun-filled activity based on basic mathematical operations. The students were given various shape patterns and combinations in which each shape was assigned different numerical value. They enjoyed calculating the numerical value of the different patterns and combinations given. All the students enthusiastically participated in the activity.

Time-Table Fun

In the club activity organised on 24.01.19 , the students got an opportunity to learn to make a Time-Table for their class. The objective of activity was to make the students more organised & help them plan their daily schedule. After demonstration by the club master,  they made a Time-Table for their class on a drawing sheet by making a grid  with appropriate heads and titles for different activities they are engaged in during the week. The activity was enjoyed by all the students who keenly participated with enthusiasm.

My Cash Memo 

In the club activity organised on 22.11.18, the students got an opportunity to play a shopping game in which a mini market was created. Some students played the role of shopkeepers while other posed as customers.

The objective of the activity was to make students aware of the content of a Cash Memo  and highlight its importance. They were guided to check the MRP and the expiry of the products purchased.
They created their own cash memo which listed the details like , items purchased, their quantity and their costs. They used basic mathematical operations like addition and multiplication while preparing the memo. All the student were thrilled to act & pose like adults while shopping and enthusiastically participated in the activity.

Multiplication Mat 

In the club activity conducted on 25.10.18, the students created a multiplication mat using repeated addition. It was an innovative technique to teach multiplication. The students thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with numbers. The activity made learning tables easier. It was an effective brain exercise for all the students and each one enthusiastically participated in it.

Tesselation Patterns 

 

In the club activity organised on 20.9.18, the students got an opportunity to explore tessellation patterns. The objective of the activity was to make students aware of different shapes and observe the designs and patterns used in their immediate surroundings like floors,door,walls,books etc. The students participated with enthusiasm and created different patterns using their imagination and creativity.

Smart City

In the club activity organised on 23.8.18, the students got an opportunity to explore and learn the concept of 3-dimensional geometrical shapes such as cylinder, cube, cuboid, cone etc. They designed and created a model of a city using different 3D dimensional  cutouts and objects such a toilet paper roll, match box etc. They exhibited creativity & innovation and enthusiastically participated in the activity.

Triangles in a Triangle 

 

In the club activity organised on 18.7.18 the students created and solved logic puzzles based on the geometrical shape,  triangle using origami sheets. The algorithm and technique to count triangles inside a equilateral triangle were discussed and explained. The activity was an effective brain exercise for all the students and they enthusiastically participated in it.

Open and Close Figures

In the club activity conducted on 19.4.18 the students explored the geometrical concept of open and close figures. The concept was explained by the club masters with the help of illustrations and picture cards. This was followed by a hands-on activity to help the students differentiate and identify different geometrical figures. They created two dimensional open and close figures using simple material like match sticks and wool. The fun activity was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students and they participated with enthusiasm.
