DOT TO DOT (PRE SCHOOL) (22.02.18)
The Dot to Dot Competition for Pre School was organized on 22.02.18. Children were guided to join the dots, in sequence, from numbers 1-10. The children participated enthusiastically and enjoyed joining the dots as it was a new activity for them. They were delighted to see a Fish emerge from the dots.
Certificates were awarded to 8 deserving children from each section.
SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION (22.02.18)
Speech and Language Development is an integral part of our curriculum. As part of our endeavour to help children develop appropriate communication skills as well as self confidence, a Show and Tell Competition was organised for Pre- Primary children on 22.02.18. There was maximum participation of students from each class. They carried their favourite toy with them and spoke a few sentences on it. The toys came in all varieties, right from the superheroes like batman, spiderman to the dainty dolls, from big soft toys to small cars, we had them all. It was a pleasure listening to the little ones describing their favourite toy and why is it special to them. Ten students from each class were selected for the intraclass round and the best performer from each class further competed in the inter class round.

SPORTS ACTIVITY (COLLECTING THE FLOWER)(15.02.18)
Sports, whether in a team or played as an individual, are great for children. In recognition of the importance of sports in the child's life, sports activity named Collecting the Flowers was organised for our Pre-Schoolers on 15.02.18. All the children participated in a run to collect flowers and decorate beautiful vases placed at the finishing point. It was a cause of joy and achievement for the children.

ENGLISH CALLIGRAPHY (09.02.2018)
An English Calligraphy competition was conducted for the Pre Primary classes on 09.02.18. The criteria for judgement was the writing strokes, proper spacing be-tween words, overall neatness and presentation.

Christmas Celebration (22.12.2017)
Filled with fun and frolic Christmas was celebrated in the Montessori department on 22.12.17. 95 children from PS and PP participated in the musical show.The birth of Jesus was portrayed through a short story followed by a rhythmic dance.
Children's favourite Santa arrived at the end and filled the whole environment with joy and merriment.
All the children enjoyed dancing to the beats of 'Jingle Bells'.
Character Depiction (20.12.2017)
Children portrayed the roles of various Helpers in their respective classes. The children came dressed up as Dentist, Carpenter, Mechanic, Electrician, Plumber, Farmer and Washerman. They depicted their character by speaking few lines using toy tools. This experience helped them to know about each community helper and their importance in our daily life. They spoke on the mic with much ease and confidence.Children enjoyed the activity a lot.
Winter Carnival (17.12.2017)
The much awaited Winter Carnival was once again here with much pomp and show. The complete arena overflowed with festivity and merriment on 17.12.17. The fair offered several sideshows, stalls and performances by students. A musical parade on the theme 'Clean India Healthy India' was showcased by 122 enthusiastic children of Pre Primary classes of the Montessori Department. Through their dance the children contributed towards making our country a clean place to live in. The Baby Show was conducted successfully with much participation. The stalls were the major crowd pullers. It was a day of fun and masti for the young and adults alike.
Packing your Bag (07.12.2017)
A fun activity “Packing Your Bag” was organised for Pre-School on 07.12.17. Children from each section were required to pack their bags after identifying their own belongings, kept in different corners of the classroom. The activity was oriented to bring about a sense of responsibility and self reliance.
Visit to BBAC, Rohini (24.11.2017 - 30.11.2017)
Students of Pre Primary visited the Bal Bharati Activity Centre from 24.11.17 - 30.11.17 along with their respective class teachers, teacher assistants and ayahs.
The day long camp had lots of excitement in store. On reaching the venue the children were served Aloo - Puri for breakfast. They were then divided into two groups for the various indoor activities like, Bubble Painting on a snake cut out & Making Finger Puppets. Children were also taken out for outdoor activities like Crossing the Tunnel, Zip Lock activity etc.
A movie 'Finding Nemo' was shown after which the children enjoyed dancing to their favourite hits.
The Rajma/Chawal was the cherry on the cake and they relished it well..
All the activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the children. They had fun-filled, memorable and adventurous day.

DIWALI CELEBRATION (16 .10.2017 & 17.10.2017)
Diwali is a festival of lights, prosperity and happiness.To mark the occasion a Monthly activity was organized on 16.10.17.The children of both Pre School & Pre Primary ushered in the festival by making beautiful Diwali cards, Paper Rangoli, Kandeel and Bandhanwars. Various techniques like Paper Tearing Pasting, Finger Printing, Paper Folding and Decoration with Glitter tubes and mirrors etc. were used creatively. Children were happy and excited to see the work being displayed and appreciated.One child from each section was awarded a merit certificate for his /her best performance. The concept of sharing was also highlighted through this activity as the children exchanged their cards with their friends. They also learned and recited a rhyme “Deep Jalao- Deep Jalao” along with the slogan “SAY NO TO CRACKERS” for a “SAFE DIWALI CLEAN DIWALI”. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
The Montessori Department also celebrated this festival with great pomp and show on 17.10.2017.
It was an extravaganza by 125 children of Pre School and Pre Primary. The essence of celebration commenced with a Sanskrit Shloka followed by a small skit depicting the arrival of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. People’s happiness and delightment was shown through a dance.
A skit was also presented to depict the significance of worshiping Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi. The programme was concluded with a message conveying “Say No To Crackers”. All the participants performed enthusiastically and the Cultural Programme was enjoyed and appreciated by all.

World Animal Day (04.10.2017)
Children of Pre School and Pre Primary celebrated the World Animal Day on October 4th, in order to do something special to highlight the importance of animals in our lives. A variety of activities like animal race, quiz, rhyme dramatization, love for animals were carried out by the teachers with the children. The children brought soft toys of their favorite animal and expressed their love for animals by speaking lines on the welfare of animals.
A story dramatization on KIND ANIMALS was also carried out where children showed their acting skills and explained how all the animals in a jungle saved a hunter as they had promised themselves of never hurting others. This story helped to sensitize children towards the fact that animals don't trouble us unnecessarily. It was a great event and was carried out successfully. Children went home with the message in their heart and mind that we have to SAVE ANIMALS, LOVE ANIMALS.

PAPER PLATE CRAFT (07.09.17)
A vibrant activity of Paper Plate Craft was organized for the Pre- Primary children on 07.09.17. The theme for the activity was 'Animals', in which they used various art and craft techniques such as printing, cutting and pasting using variety of decorative and waste material to make masks, puppets, head bands etc. Children exhibited their creativity with enthusiasm and enjoyed it thoroughly.

364 nature lovers of Pre School (A -J) participated in a run to collect the fruit that was on their way and kept it safe in the basket with their fellow friends. Gradually the empty basket was filled with variety of fruits which was a cause of joy and achievement for the children. The whole environment was filled with energy, happiness and yelling of children amidst the cloudy sky and cool breeze.

Costume Fiesta (21.08.17 to 23.08.17)
Costume Fiesta was organized for Pre- Primary classes from 21st August ’17 to 23rd August ’17. It displayed colourful parade by the children with meaningful thoughts and messages and they had the chance to witness a lively pageant of various characters of their fantasy world. Children were enthusiastic and confident while depicting their respective characters. Best ten entries from each section were awarded with a merit certificate as a token of appreciation.
SPORTS ACTIVITY - Sports Activity (Hop like a frog)(16.08.17)
A sports activity 'Hop like a frog' was organised for the students of Pre- Primary. The activity aimed at developing the large and fine muscle of the children. One class at a time participated in the activity. The children of a class stood in four rows and then they hopped like a frog from the starting point till the finishing point and hid themselves behind a huge mushroom kept at the end point. The umbrellas hung on the top with a rope added colours to the whole environment. Winning classes were awarded with certificates. The children enjoyed the activity.

To nurture the feeling of patriotism amongst the tiny tots a special morning assembly on 'Independence Day' was conducted. Through this awakening musical and informative extravaganza, the children were motivated to take a pledge to celebrate success, hardwork and achievement of our freedom fighters. As our Tricolour National Flag was swaying, the air filled with the essence of patriotism.

All the students of the Pre-School and Pre-Primary made friendship bands for their friends. The importance of making friends was emphasized by the teacher and the message of love, care and sharing was given. The children enjoyed singing and dancing on the friendship day song “Friends-friends 1-2-3'' & ''Let's all sing together''.
MY COLOURFUL WORLD-28.07.2017
The activity of My Colourful World was held on 28-7-2017 for Pre-School and Pre-Primary children. The children were given a figure and using their creativity, they were supposed to colour it. The children participated enthusiastically and did beautiful colouring in the given picture. Few children used their creativity in the best possible way to do the colouring. Merit certificates were given to best ten entries from each section of Pre-School and Pre-Primary.
MY FAVOURITE FAMILY MEMBER (24.07.2017)
The fun activity was planned for Pre- School children on 24.07.17. The children spoke 2-3 lines on their favourite family member. Some of them were dressed accordingly. This activity gave an opportunity to all the children to speak on mike and it was an encouraging event for those who were hesitant to speak on mike. It was very enjoyable for all.

PLANTS – OUR LIFELINE (17.07.17)
A fun activity “Plants..Our Lifeline” was conducted on 17.7.17 for the Pre Primary children.They were asked to bring disposable glasses filled with soil along withpre soaked seeds of rajma,chana,moong dal etc. The process of germination of a seed into a plant was explained to them. Emphasis was laid on being eco friendly and thereby saving the environment.They were divided into small groups to do the activity.Children were directed to sow the seeds they had brought, in the soiland water them .The sowed seeds were then kept on the window sill for children to observe its growth through the coming days. They enjoyed doing the activity under the teacher's supervision.
EXHIBITION OF SUMMER HOLIDAY PROJECTS (15.07.17)
The Annual Exhibition of the Summer Holiday Projects was held at the Pusa Road Campus on 15.07.17. The theme of the event was 'Our Literary World'. Mrs. Sangeeta Gupta an IRS officer, poet and an artist was the honourable chief guest..Theprogramme started with the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony by the chief guest, amidst the gracious presence of our revered Principal Mr. L.V Sehgal and distinguished guests. A small cultural programme was presented by the children of the primary department to welcome the chief guest. The children of Montessori department with the help of their teachers and parents, made attractive projects on various topics such festivals, sports and games, cartoons, flora and fauna and books on their favourite imaginary world of fairy tales and fables. They used different artistic skills and techniques that they learn in school. An art gallery was created displaying various colourful and innovative work made out of waste material using eco-friendly techniques.
ACTIVITY WEEK (10.07.17-13.07.17)
An extravaganza of creative crafts kept both teachers and students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary,completely engrossed and occupied for the entire week.The children loved working with different textures and also paper tearing and pasting, to create brilliant pieces that adorned the runners in the corridors.The theme for Pre-School was Rhymes & Stories and varied topics related to the environment and for Pre-Primary, such as Care for Animals, In the Garden, Rainy Season etc.
Adaptation Period (11.04.17 - 13.04.17 & 17.04.17)
A four day long Adaptation Period crowned the new session of Pre School, session 2017-18. It was the settling down period for the new comers, to ease their anxiety and make them comfortable in the new surroundings. The schedule commenced on 11.04.17 with the Introductory Day. It was a day of interaction between the teachers and parents.
Queries and apprehensions of the anxious parents were put to rest and chocolates and take away gifts were given to every child.
The children loved and enjoyed the “Magic Show” and “Puppet Show”.The entire campus imparted a joyous look, bedecked with colourful balloons.
Orientation Programme (01.04.17)
An Orientation Programme to usher in the new batch of Pre Schoolers, session 2017-18, was conducted on 01.04.17 in the school auditorium at BBPS, GRH Campus. The school band, at its best, gave the parents a rhythmic welcome.
Our Principal, Mr. L.V Sehgal in his address, to the gathering, proudly showcased the accolades credited to the school. The Power Point presentation by the Headmistress, Montessori Department, Ms.Neelam Ahuja,gave the parents a good insight into what lay ahead. The students of the Pre Primary class enacted a colourful and rhythmic rhyme “Old Mac Donald”, which set many a feet tapping, culminating in a resounding applause.
It was a joyous moment although lined with solemnity. The Special Educator of the school, Ms. Anjali Kaushik, imparted useful tips to parents on the why’s and wherefore’s of this new step towards formal schooling. This was then followed by an interactive session with the parents who had queries and doubts.
Hindi Extempore 19.09.16
Hindi extempore for Pre- Primary classes was held on 19.09.16 in which they were supposed to learn 10- 12 lines on two topics which were given to them. Ten merit holders from each section were awarded with a certificate. It was a successful event.
Nandkishore Makhanchor (24.08.16)
It was a fun activity for all classes of Pre- school and Pre- primary. The girls made murli with a paper and then decorated it with material they brought. The boys made
morpankh with coloured papers and decorated it. They wore it on their forehead while going home and the girls took murli with them to their home. It was an exciting activity and enjoyed by all the children as well as the teachers.
Monthly Activity (Independence Day) (12.08.16)
Cotton pasting on a drawing of dove was done by pre- school children in the month of a August depicting our National Festival Independence Day.

To inculcate the value of friendship the “Wrist Band Activity” was conducted in each section on 03.08.16. Children enjoyed making the friendship band and decorating it.

Fun with sunglasses (22.07.16)
The activity of fun with sunglasses was held on 22.07.16 for pre- school children. Children brought funny sunglasses and caps for the activity. The activity was conducted in the form of a race. All the children participated enthusiastically and were awarded paper trophies. Children went back home with lot of joy and excitement.
Exhibition (16.07.16)
The exhibition of summer projects was held on 16th July 2016. The work done by the children during summer vacation was showcased through the event. There was a lot of hustle bustle in the campus as parents and students thronged the arena to view the display. The guest of honour for the exhibition was music composer Pandit Bhajan Sopori. The enthusiasm and hard work was much appreciated him.
Activity Week (11.07.16 to 14.07.16)
An Activity Week affirms the presentation of the Annual Exhibition of Summer Projects. This year the theme for the week was “Love”. Conducted in the month of July, from 11th to 14th, various arts and crafts were prepared by children on varied topics such as:

* Love for food
* Love for animals, and last but not the least
* Love for Humanity
Mother’s Day (06.05.16)
“I Love My Mom” was the common message sent out by the children, of Pre- School & Pre- Primary, on the occasion of Mother’s Day on 06.05.16. They expressed their gratitude through cards and crafts made in school with the help and guidance of their class teachers. The Pre schoolers made beautiful cards whereas the Pre primary children crafted eye catching photo frames. To add to the charm, they pasted their mother’s photograph on the frame and presented the same to their mom as a token of love and gratitude.
Sports Activity (27.04.16)
A group activity “Fill the Tub” was conducted for Pre- primary classes on 27.04.16. Children came one by one and filled a tub with water, from the bucket provided at the opposite end. Skill scored over speed. The level of water in every tub was the criteria for winning. The skill lay in transporting the maximum amount of water to the tub. The top three classes were declared winners and awarded certificates.
Cooking without Fire (26.04.16)
Children have the wish to imitate and work like their mother does in the kitchen. To tap the interest, a new activity “Cooking without Fire” was introduced this year. Organized on 26.04.16, children of Pre-primary enjoyed preparing different items like sandwiches, biscuit toppings, bhelpuri, lemonade etc. Extremely happy on their achievement they enjoyed sharing and relishing their preparations.
Saving our Environment (22.04.16)
Sensitizing children towards the environment is also a key concern. Done sporadically throughout the year it takes a visible form on the occurrence of Earth day. Children contributed actively in an awareness drive on “Saving our Environment” on 22.04.16, our global Earth Day. They created Earth Day crafts and participated in a Nature Walk around the Campus.
Adaptation Period (11.04.16- 13.04.16 & 18.04.16)
An Adaptation Programme holds considerable significance to create a friendly and comfortable environment for the Pre Schoolers to settle down. Packed with different fun activities and gifts it helps generate a happy atmosphere for the children. Stretched across four days, from 11.04.16 – 13.04.16 & 18.04.16, it is an ideal period that allows the children to attune themselves to formal schooling. A Magic Show & a Puppet Show are the added frills during the period.
Annual Day (09.04.16)
Nearly 250 children of the Montessori Department, put up a brilliant performance on the occasion of annual function on 09.04.16 They enacted the all time favourite fable “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs”. Every aspect of the story was beautifully executed and loved and appreciated by all.
